steamspa-dtpbn-dual-touch-control-panel-for-steamspa-steam-generators-in-brushed-nickel
SteamSpa DTPBN Dual Touch Control Panel for SteamSpa Steam Generators in Brushed Nickel

The SteamSpa DTPBN is a dual touch control kit for SteamSpa steam generators in a brushed nickel finish: a main control panel that mounts inside the steam room and a secondary panel for outside it, both wired to the same generator. It suits a steam shower build where you want to start, time and adjust the steam from either side of the glass, with a large LCD screen that shows the room temperature and the time.

Using it is simple. Press the power key and the generator takes 1 to 2 minutes to fill and heat before steam comes out; the temperature on the screen climbs as the room fills, the steam pauses once the room reaches your preset, and at the end of the steam time the system shuts off the steam and the light on its own. Steam time sets from 1 to 60 minutes, and two saved settings, SET1 and SET2, bring back your usual session with one press.

A Complete Two-Panel Control Kit

The kit is complete for a two-panel install: the main panel, the secondary panel, two extension cables, a separate temperature sensor and the user guide. Each panel's lead is 1.6' long and takes an extension of up to 20', so the panels can sit up to 25' from the generator.

Each panel has a 4.33" x 6.77" faceplate and can stick to the tile with an adhesive gasket sealed with silicone or recess into the wall, so the controls stay sealed against steam in a wet room.

If you are building a steam shower around a SteamSpa generator and want a control at the bench and another at the door, the DTPBN dual touch control panel in brushed nickel gives you both from one box, with the light key, drain functions and steam timer built in.

What the Panel Tells You

The panel also watches the generator for you. When it first gets power the screen shows three dashes until you switch it on; if the tank runs short of water the system stops heating, after 60 seconds without water the screen shows a warning, and if the tank cannot fill within 2 minutes it shows E5 and shuts the system down at 4 minutes. The display reads ambient temperature from 32°F to 140°F.

For a single control point, SteamSpa makes the STPBN, the same panel on its own with one extension cable and a temperature sensor. Choose the dual DTPBN when the room is large or when you want to start the steam from outside the glass.

Features

Control From Inside and Outside
The main panel mounts inside the steam room and the secondary panel outside it, so you can start the steam before you step in and adjust it once you are seated.

Set the Temperature and the Time
Choose a steam time from 1 to 60 minutes and a room temperature; the steam pauses when the room reaches your setting, so the heat stays where you like it.

Two Saved Sessions
Store two favourite combinations of temperature and steam time as SET1 and SET2, then load either one with a single press instead of setting it again.

Light Key and Clock
A light key switches the steam room light on and off, the screen shows a real time clock, and holding the arrow keys switches between Fahrenheit and Celsius.

Automatic and Manual Drain
Thirty minutes after the steam shuts off, the generator drains automatically for 7 minutes, and a manual drain function on the panel empties it on demand for service.

Separate Temperature Sensor
The included sensor mounts in a 25/64" hole away from the steamhead, so the panel reads the room temperature where you sit rather than the hot spot by the steam outlet.

Surface or Recessed Mount
Stick the panel to the wall over a 1" cable hole with its adhesive gasket and a bead of silicone, or recess it into a 3.9" x 5.6" opening with four #8 screws.

Brushed Nickel Faceplate
The brushed nickel finish suits brushed nickel shower trim; SteamSpa also makes the panel in chrome, brushed gold, oil rubbed bronze and matte black to match other fixtures.

Specifications

Model: DTPBN

Type: Dual touch control panel kit (main panel plus secondary panel)

Finish: Brushed nickel

Display: LCD: room temperature, steam time, clock

Steam Time: 1 to 60 minutes

Temperature Display: 32°F to 140°F, Fahrenheit or Celsius

Presets: SET1 and SET2

Faceplate: 4.33" W x 6.77" H, 0.94" deep

Rear Housing: 3.84" x 5.57", 1.73" deep

Panel Lead: 1.6', takes an extension of up to 20' (panel within 25' of the generator)

Mounting Height: 4' to 5' above the floor, inside the steam room (main panel)

Drain Functions: Automatic drain 30 minutes after shut-off for 7 minutes; manual drain

Compatibility: SteamSpa steam generators only

Weight: 1 lb

Warranty: 1 year (SteamSpa controls and accessories)

What's Included

SteamSpa main control panel

Secondary control panel

Two extension cables

Temperature sensor

User guide

Sold separately: SteamSpa steam generator

Installation & Care

Installation
Turn off power to the generator before connecting the panels.
