The Unger Bebbe lightbulb base removal tool is fully insulated, works from the end of a telescopic pole and carries a plastic tray that catches broken glass as the base comes out.

Removing a Broken Bulb Base

A bulb that shatters in the fixture leaves a jagged metal base threaded into the socket. Unger states that The Bebbe is fully insulated for user protection, so the base can be removed without the risk of electric shock or damage to the fixture. As with any work on a light fitting, switch the circuit off before you start.

The plastic tray sits at the working end and catches broken glass and other debris as the base is removed. Fragments land in the tray instead of scattering across the floor or desks below, which reduces the cleanup after each removal.

Reaching High Fixtures from the Floor

The Bebbe is compatible with telescopic poles, so ceiling fixtures and high lamps can be serviced from a distance. This is the idea behind Unger's high access cleaning range: telescopic pole handles keep feet on the ground and off ladders and lifts.

The tool suits facility maintenance in commercial buildings such as offices and hallways, educational institutions with classrooms, libraries and labs, hospitals, and industrial facilities such as manufacturing plants and warehouses.

It is built from steel and plastic in silver and black.
