The Nantucket Sinks KCH-PS-3220 is a 32" hand-hammered copper prep station kitchen sink from the Brightwork collection, with a dual-mount design and an included 17.75" x 10" acacia wood cutting board. Made of 16-gauge un-sealed copper, it is a living finish that Nantucket says will be the centerpiece of your kitchen, for a cook who loves a sink that changes character with use.
Nantucket built the large single bowl around a built-in interior ledge that holds the included acacia wood cutting board, which frees up counter space and keeps food debris right over the sink. Chop on the board, push trimmings toward the drain and slide the board aside when you need the whole bowl. The 30" x 15.5" basin is 9.5" deep, so stockpots and sheet pans fit below the ledge.
The 3.5" drain sits at the rear, and the sink can be used with a garbage disposer, which is not included. Wide rounded corners allow easy access to wipe down, and a finished rim allows undermount or top mount installation. The metal is 16-gauge, hammered by hand, so individual variations exist and the dimensions are nominal, varying by up to 1/4"; Nantucket suggests waiting to measure the actual sink before final cabinet work.
Overall the sink is 32" x 20" x 10" and fits a 33" minimum base cabinet. The prep station comes in two metals, polished stainless steel (KSSH-PS-3220) and copper (KCH-PS-3220), on the same design.
Installing the 3220 Prep Stations
A finished rim allows the prep station to be undermounted or top mounted, and Nantucket's copper care guide calls for professional installation, and Nantucket recommends measuring the actual sink before final cabinet work, since hand-hammered dimensions are nominal. The spec sheet lists it as garbage disposal safe, so a disposer can go on the rear drain.
Brightwork is Nantucket's curated assortment of specialty metal sinks, inspired by the brightwork on sailboats; like sunlight sparkling on the ocean on a clear day, the brand says, these pieces bring brilliance to a bath, bar or kitchen. The collection works in hand-hammered stainless steel, brass and copper, in round, square, oval, rectangular and trough bath and bar sinks, plus kitchen sinks, a farmhouse apron and the Steppe two-tier sink, so a home can repeat one metal from the powder room to the kitchen.
Caring for a Living Copper Finish
Copper is a living finish, and the KCH-PS-3220 will patina and develop its own character with use; Nantucket says plainly that the as-delivered finish is not permanent. To keep it closer to new, its care guide recommends sealing the copper with a carnauba paste wax before first use and every 6 months, washing it with a soft damp cloth and a little mild soap such as original Dawn, then rinsing and hand drying. Steel wool, scouring pads and sponges are out, and grooming products and toothpaste should be rinsed away after contact.
The KCH-PS-3220 is the Nantucket Sinks 32" hammered copper workstation sink for a kitchen that wants a living finish, un-sealed copper that patinas with use around a built-in ledge.
Living 16-Gauge Copper
The KCH-PS-3220 is un-sealed 16-gauge copper, a living finish that naturally patinas over time, which is what gives the sink its unique character.
Acids Mark, Copper Recovers
Acidic liquids and foods can alter the copper finish with prolonged contact, but Nantucket notes this is temporary and the copper will naturally re-patina itself.
Built-In Cutting Board Ledge
An interior ledge holds the acacia wood cutting board over the bowl, freeing counter space and keeping food debris right over the sink and drain.
Acacia Board Included
The acacia wood cutting board ships with the sink and is sized to the ledge, so the prep station is complete without buying accessories.
9.5" Deep Single Bowl
Below the ledge, the 30" x 15.5" bowl is 9.5" deep, so large cookware soaks and washes under the faucet while the board stays in place.
Finished Rim, Two Mounts
A finished rim lets the sink be undermounted or top mounted, so it suits a new stone counter or a drop-in replacement.
Disposer Ready Drain
The 3.5" rear drain works with a garbage disposer, which the spec sheet lists as garbage disposal safe; the disposer and drain are sold separately.
Installation
A finished rim lets this sink be undermounted or top mounted. Nantucket's copper care guide calls for professional installation, and because hand-hammered dimensions are nominal, measure the actual sink before final cabinet work. It fits a 33" minimum base cabinet. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop or the wall. The 3.5" rear drain opening takes a standard 3.5" drain or a disposer, sold separately; there is no overflow.
Care
Copper is a living finish that patinas and develops its own character, and the as-delivered color is not permanent. For everyday cleaning use mild soap (original Dawn) and warm water with a soft cloth, then rinse and hand dry; never use steel wool, a scouring pad or a sponge. Acidic foods and liquids can alter the finish with prolonged contact, but the copper re-patinas itself; to protect against acids and slow the change, Nantucket suggests a carnauba wax, applied before first use and every 6 months. Copper is a soft metal, so handle it with care. Hand wash the acacia cutting board with soapy water right after use, rinse and dry it; do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher or microwave, which can warp or crack it. Condition it with mineral oil or beeswax, never cooking oil, which goes rancid, applied generously and left to absorb overnight.

Nantucket Sinks is a boutique sink maker based in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, that has designed kitchen and bath sinks for more than two decades. Its range of over 500 products brings together fireclay, stainless steel, granite composite, vitreous china, cast iron and hand-hammered metals sourced from skilled makers in Italy, China and beyond, styled with the charm of the New England coast.
Brightwork is Nantucket Sinks' collection of specialty metal sinks, named for the polished metal trim on a sailboat. Most pieces are hand hammered by artisans, so the dimpled surface catches the light and no two are exactly alike. In stainless steel the collection covers round, oval, square and trough-style bath and bar sinks plus kitchen bowls, prep stations and a farmhouse apron; in copper it adds a hammered prep station and the Steppe two-tier sink designed with Studio Dearborn.
