The Nantucket Sinks RC7040GMS-MB Drake is a 16.75" round Italian fireclay vessel sink with a matte black glazed interior and hand-applied bands of genuine gold and platinum leaf. The metallic patterns play off the black bowl and change character with the light, making it the focal point of a bath or powder room.
The round vessel is 16.75" across at the rim, narrowing to a 6.5" base, and 5.75" tall, with a 15.75" diameter basin 4.75" deep. Its graceful sloping inner basin means it can be installed on top of the counter as a vessel or set semi-recessed into it.
Every Regatta sink is genuine fireclay, designed and hand finished in Italy and fired at high temperatures, which Nantucket says makes it stronger than typical bathroom sinks. Dimensions are nominal and can vary by about 1/4" from piece to piece, and the bowl takes a standard 1.75" vanity drain (not included).
Because a vessel sits on top of the counter, plan the faucet with it: a tall vessel faucet on the deck or a wall-mount faucet clears the rim, and Nantucket's matching umbrella pop-up drains, sold separately, come in several finishes. The Regatta Collection, inspired by famous ports, lakes and seaside towns, runs from matte concrete, white and black glazes to metal-leaf and hand-painted pieces, so a powder room and a primary bath can share one collection in different looks.
Planning the Vanity
Planning a vanity around it is straightforward. It has no faucet holes, so the faucet goes on the countertop or the wall, and the drain opening takes a vanity drain without overflow made for the 1.75" opening, sold separately, which Nantucket offers as matching umbrella pop-up drains in several finishes. At 25 lbs, the sink is set on the counter or in its cutout with plumbing silicone, and professional installation is recommended.
A vessel sits on top of the vanity, so the countertop needs only the drain hole, and Nantucket's vessel guide asks you to dry fit the sink first and leave at least 5" at the rear of the vanity for a faucet. Nantucket's semi-recessed guide notes that when a vessel replaces an undermount sink, its base must be larger than the existing hole.
Caring for Hand-Finished Fireclay
Each Regatta sink is hand finished in Italy, so look after it gently: Nantucket asks for pH neutral soap and a soft cloth only, no abrasive cleansers or pads, and no improper or caustic cleansers, which can damage the glaze. Fired fireclay will not rust.
For a bathroom or powder room that wants an Italian fireclay bathroom sink with real craftsmanship, the Nantucket Sinks RC7040GMS-MB turns the vanity into a focal point while staying practical for daily hand washing.
Features
Matte Black Interior
The matte black glazed interior sets off the gold, copper-toned and aqua patterns, so the metallic bands glow against the dark bowl.
Changes With the Light
As the room's light shifts, the leaf bands catch and reflect it differently, giving the black Drake a dramatic, living character.
Vessel or Semi-Recessed
The sloping 15.75" basin and 6.5" base let the Drake sit fully on top of the counter or partly recessed into it, so you can set the rim height.
Genuine Gold and Platinum Leaf
Bands of genuine 24K gold leaf and platinum leaf are applied by hand in Italy, with copper and gold patterns and accents of aqua.
High-Fired Fireclay
Fired at high temperatures, the sink is, in Nantucket's words, stronger than typical bathroom sinks, and the glaze will not rust.
Standard 1.75" Vanity Drain
The center opening takes a standard 1.75" bathroom drain without overflow, so matching pop-up drains in several finishes fit; the drain is sold separately.

Installation & Care
Installation
The Drake can be installed as a vessel on top of the counter or semi-recessed into it. On top, Nantucket's vessel method applies: leave at least 5" behind it for the faucet and cut a drain hole on center; semi-recessed, trace the 6.5" base for the cutout and keep the faucet space behind. There are no faucet holes, so use a tall vessel faucet or a wall-mount faucet. Bond the sink with plumbing silicone (not included); Nantucket's warranty excludes a semi-recessed install in a wood countertop, so use stone or another solid surface for that option. It takes a standard 1.75" vanity drain without overflow, sold separately. Professional installation is recommended.
Care
Clean the sink with a pH neutral soap and a soft cloth only, then rinse and wipe it dry; Nantucket requires pH neutral soap for Regatta Collection sinks. Do not use abrasive cleansers or pads, and keep improper or caustic cleansers off the glaze, since Nantucket's warranty does not cover glaze damage they cause. Fireclay will not rust. The 24K gold and platinum leaf is hand finished in Italy, so the same gentle routine applies to it.
