The Nantucket Sinks T-FCFS30CB is a 30" fireclay farmhouse sink in a rich coffee brown glaze, supplied with a bottom grid and drain. It is for a kitchen that wants the sink to be a warm focal point instead of a white one, a brown apron that sits well with wood, cream or green cabinetry and natural stone counters.
The 28.875" x 16.375" basin is 8.5" deep inside a 30.25" x 18" exterior, with a luxurious 10" apron. The corners are softly rounded, 16mm inside and 35mm outside, and the 3.5" drain opening sits at the center of the bowl. Nantucket fires the sink in a kiln for 15 hours, so the glaze is durable and scratch resistant.
Each sink is made from dense fireclay with a porcelain enamel glaze that Nantucket says provides long lasting durability, and the sides taper 1/4" from top to bottom for a softer, more elegant profile. Fireclay will not rust, food stains wipe away, and Nantucket says the glazed surface needs fewer cleansers.
Because the clay shrinks as it is fired, dimensions are nominal and can vary by about 1/4", so the custom base is built to the sink you receive. Nantucket's care guide calls fireclay easy and low maintenance.
Planning the Cabinet and Plumbing
Planning the cabinet comes first with any fireclay farmhouse sink. This one needs a custom base required, and because it weighs 97 lbs, the cabinet is fitted with an internal support frame to carry it. It has no faucet holes, so the faucet goes on the countertop or the wall. The drain opening is center-set, and the drain is included. Measure the actual sink before the cabinet is built, so the opening fits the piece you receive. The accessories Nantucket lists for it, all sold separately, are the 3.5EDF-BRS extended drain flange in brushed stainless, the 3.5EDF-ORB extended drain flange in oil rubbed bronze.
Living With Fireclay
Living with fireclay is simple. The glazed surface lets food stains wipe away, contains no metal so it will not rust, and needs only a mild cleaner and a soft cloth day to day; Nantucket suggests baking soda for stuck-on food, Soft Scrub or a Scotch-Brite sponge for a rare surface mark, and an occasional coat of carnauba wax to help water run off. Nantucket's fireclay care guide calls the material easy and low maintenance, and in hard water areas a quick dry with a cloth prevents spotting.
For a kitchen built around a statement apron front sink, the Nantucket Sinks T-FCFS30CB pairs a 30" fireclay farmhouse design with the easy care of glazed fireclay, a farmhouse kitchen sink meant to be used hard every day and still look like the centerpiece of the room.
Rich Coffee Brown Glaze
The coffee brown porcelain enamel glaze gives the apron a deep, warm color that pairs with wood tones and stone, an unusual choice in a farmhouse sink.
Rounded 16mm Inside Corners
Inside corners have a 16mm radius and outside corners 35mm, so the bowl is easy to wipe out and the apron edges look soft rather than sharp.
Grid and Drain Included
A bottom grid and a stainless steel drain ship with the sink, so the bowl is protected and ready to use without a separate accessory order.
Durable Porcelain Enamel
Dense fireclay under a porcelain enamel glaze gives long lasting durability, and the glazed surface lets coffee, wine and sauce stains wipe away.
Elegant 1/4" Taper
The sides taper 1/4" from the top edge to the bottom of the sink, softening the apron profile while keeping the full 10" face.
Eco-Friendly, Fewer Cleansers
Nantucket notes that fireclay is eco-friendly and needs fewer cleansers, so a mild cleaner and a soft cloth do most of the daily work.
Sold separately: 3.5EDF-BRS extended drain flange in brushed stainless, 3.5EDF-ORB extended drain flange in oil rubbed bronze.
Installation
This undermount farmhouse sink needs a custom or apron-front base cabinet (a custom base is required), with a 2x4 support frame or cradle inside that holds it level and flush with the cabinet top; Nantucket's apron guide calls for a frame strong enough for up to 300 lbs, and the sink alone weighs 97 lbs. No template is included: the cabinet opening and countertop cutout are measured from the actual sink, set flush or with a 1/4" overhang, because fired fireclay dimensions are nominal. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the counter or wall. It has a 3.5" drain opening at the center of the bowl. Professional installation is required. The Apron installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Clean the fireclay regularly with a mild cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge, then rinse; in hard water areas, dry it with a cloth to prevent spotting. Soak stuck-on food to loosen it, using baking soda if needed, and lift a rare surface stain with Soft Scrub or a Scotch-Brite sponge. An occasional coat of carnauba wax adds protection and helps water run off. Fireclay contains no metal, so it will not rust. Fireclay is stain resistant and low maintenance, and the drain should never be over-tightened.
