The MediTub 2653LBD is a 26" x 53" walk-in bathtub in biscuit with a dual whirlpool and air massage system and a left side drain with the pump and blower on the right. It lets a bather walk in through the door instead of climbing over a tub wall.
A walk-in tub with a door suits aging in place, an ADA bathroom remodel or any home where someone finds a standard step-over tub difficult. The 2653LBD keeps the whole bath seated: you sit down before the water goes in and stay seated through the soak, so there is no climbing, kneeling or lowering yourself to the tub floor.
Dual Massage With 16 Air and 6 Water Jets
With the door closed, the tub fills to a 32" soaking depth from drain to overflow, so you soak sitting upright with the water around you. 16 air bubble injectors on a 1 HP blower and 6 directional, adjustable water jets on a 1 HP pump pair a soft, full-body bubble massage with a firmer, targeted hydro massage, and each system has its own button, so you can run them together or one at a time. A friction heater keeps the water warm for a longer bath and needs no extra power to run. Fill the tub at least 2" above the highest jet before switching the jets on, then adjust each water jet to suit.
Grab Bar, Textured Floor and a Sealed Door
Safety is built into the shell: a built-in grab bar, a slip-resistant textured floor and an ADA compliant molded seat support you on the way in and out. The door closes on an advanced GE water seal, a door drain with a check valve clears water from the door channel after each bath, and the cable-operated waste and overflow opens and closes the floor drain with a chrome turn knob inside the tub.
The tub rides on a solid stainless steel frame with 8 laser precision support points and adjustable leveling feet. It is designed for an alcove installation. Removable front access panels keep the pump and blower reachable for service once the tub is installed. MediTub lists it as ADA compliant, CSA certified, IAPMO listed and UL certified.
Fitting the 26" x 53" Footprint
Measured for the room, the MediTub 26" x 53" walk-in bathtub is 52.75" L x 26.4" W x 38" H overall. Measure on site before building the surround: jet, pump and blower positions are set at the factory and cannot be moved.
The MediTub 2653 series is offered in white or biscuit, with the drain on the left or right, and as a soaking model with no jets, an air bubble model, a whirlpool model or a dual whirlpool and air model. All of them share the same shell, seat, door and safety features, so the choice comes down to the massage you want and which side of the room the drain needs to be on.
In short, the MediTub 2653LBD brings together a 32" soak and dual whirlpool and air massage in a biscuit finish with a left drain, so bathing at home stays safe and independent.
Features
Dual Whirlpool and Air Massage
16 air injectors and 6 water jets on a 1 HP blower and a 1 HP pump combine a soft bubble massage with a targeted hydro massage, on separate buttons.
Friction Heater, No Extra Power
A friction heater keeps the bath water warm for an extended, comfortable soak and needs no extra power or circuit of its own to operate.
32" Soaking Depth
Water fills to 32" from drain to overflow, so you soak upright on the seat in water much deeper than a standard bathtub holds.
Grab Bar and Textured Floor
A color-matched built-in grab bar and a slip-resistant textured floor give you a hand hold and secure footing while you sit, stand and step out.
Sealed Door With Door Drain
The inward-swinging door closes on an advanced GE water seal, and a door drain with a check valve clears leftover water from the door channel after each bath.
Stainless Steel Frame
A solid stainless steel frame with 8 laser precision support points and adjustable leveling feet carries the tub; set level, it keeps the door seal and drain working.
Alcove Installation
It is designed for an alcove installation, in a footprint of 52.75" L x 26.4" W x 38" H.
Service Access Panels
Removable front access panels open for maintenance after installation, giving direct access to the pump and blower on the right side.

Installation & Care
Installation
Left side drain, pump and blower on the right; overall 52.75" L x 26.4" W x 38" H. It is designed for an alcove installation. The tile flange is built in. The supplied 1.5" waste and overflow connects to a minimum 1.5" sanitary drain line in Schedule 40 PVC, and the door drain hose joins the main drain at about 45 degrees. The faucet is sold separately. Electrical: one dedicated 110 to 120V branch circuit protected by a 20 A GFCI, run in 12 gauge, 3-conductor cable to a moisture-proof junction box 6" above the floor at the pump end, out of reach from inside the tub. Level the tub on its leveling feet and water test it before it is enclosed: fill above the highest jet, let it stand 30 minutes and run the jets for 10 minutes, and keep the motor access panel reachable. Lift the tub by its frame handles, never by the plumbing. MediTub requires installation by a licensed plumber and electrician; the installation manual is in Resources.
Care
Flush the jet piping before first use and once a month: fill with hot water 2" to 3" above the jets, add 2 to 3 teaspoons of low-foaming dishwasher detergent, run the jets 10 minutes and drain, then refill with cold water, run 15 minutes and drain. Clean hair and lint from the suction cover monthly, never run the pump dry and never run it with the suction cover off. Fill the tub at least 2" above the highest jet before you switch the jets on. Wipe the biscuit shell with mild soap, warm water and a soft cloth, and rinse it; avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders and harsh chemical cleaners, which scour and dull the finish. Do not lean on the door or use it for support, since its alignment keeps the seal watertight. MediTub recommends a bath no hotter than 102°F.
