The SteamSpa OAWS750MK-A is a 7.5 kW Oasis Series steam generator package with a handheld wireless touch controller, plus a matte black square steamhead and AutoDrain. This SteamSpa 7.5 kW steam shower generator turns a sealed shower enclosure of about 84 ft³ into a home steam room, and it suits a homeowner who wants modern square steamhead styling and wireless control without running control wire through the wall.
A session starts from the handheld wireless controller: wake it, press power and the generator fills its tank and heats the water, and SteamSpa's QuickStart technology brings steam in about 1 to 2 minutes. You set the room temperature from 50°F to 130°F and the steam time from 1 to 60 minutes, and three user presets (U1, U2 and U3) remember the settings each person likes. When the room reaches the temperature you chose, the generator stops sending steam, and the dual-tank design keeps the output continuous while it runs.
Sized for an 84 ft³ Walk-In Shower
SteamSpa's sizing chart lists a 3' x 4' x 7' cabin of 84 ft³ for 7 kW to 9 kW, which is the room this 7.5 kW generator is built around. SteamSpa adds that it is safe, and even recommended, to choose one size step above what the chart shows. At 7.5 kW the generator suits a standard 3' x 4' walk-in shower, and because the steam is produced outside the enclosure, the shower itself only needs its steamhead, a control and a properly sealed enclosure.
Square Aroma Steamhead
Steam enters the shower through a matte black square steamhead in solid steel with a built-in aroma reservoir. A few drops of essential oil in the reservoir are gently warmed by the passing steam, so the scent spreads through the room with the vapor. The package includes three 10 ml aroma oil bottles to start with, and a safety relief valve rounds out the kit.
Teflon Elements, Steel Steamhead, Relief Valve and AutoDrain
The heating elements are Teflon coated, which SteamSpa says resists scale and corrosion and outlasts traditional brass elements. On this -A model, AutoDrain opens on its own about 30 minutes after the system shuts down and empties the tank, which limits mineral buildup between uses. The generator measures 15.75" W x 6.30" D x 14.57" H and holds 160 in³ of water, building steam at 4 psi, and a pressure relief valve opens automatically if the tank pressure ever passes 15 psi. The generator has a hanging groove for wall mounting and must be installed level, so its water level sensor reads correctly.
Power, Plumbing and Placement
Plan the power and plumbing before the walls close. At 7.5 kW the generator draws 32A at 240V single phase on 8 AWG copper wire, with its own breaker and a power disconnect within sight of the unit, and it can sit in a closet behind the shower, a vanity cabinet, the attic or the basement, as long as it stays indoors, dry, protected from freezing and less than 25' from the steam room.
With about 84 ft³ of steam room in reach and a matte black square steamhead in the shower, the SteamSpa OAWS750MK-A gives you a complete 7.5 kW steam shower package from one brand, ready for a licensed electrician and plumber to install.
7.5 kW for 84 ft³
SteamSpa's sizing chart matches 7.5 kW to a standard 3' x 4' walk-in shower of about 84 ft³, so the generator is matched to the room's volume; SteamSpa says choosing one size up is safe and even recommended.
Wireless Control With Three Presets
The handheld controller sets 50°F to 130°F and 1 to 60 minutes from anywhere in the room, stores three user presets, and rests in its wall cradle between sessions.
QuickStart Steam
SteamSpa's QuickStart technology brings steam in about 1 to 2 minutes, and the dual-tank design keeps it flowing continuously, so a session starts with little waiting.
Matte Black Square Steamhead
Steam enters through a matte black square steamhead in solid steel with a built-in aroma reservoir; tighten it by hand, mount it about 12" above the floor with the outlet pointing down, away from the bench.
AutoDrain Included
On this -A model, AutoDrain empties the generator tank on its own after each session, which limits mineral buildup and saves you a maintenance step.
Teflon Heating Elements
Teflon-coated elements resist scale and corrosion and, as SteamSpa rates them, withstand high heat far longer than traditional brass elements, so the generator keeps its output.
Automatic Pressure Relief
A pressure relief valve comes in the package and opens automatically when tank pressure passes 15 psi, an added layer of protection for the generator and the home.
Standard 32A, 240V Circuit
At 7.5 kW the generator runs on a dedicated 32A, 240V single-phase circuit with 8 AWG copper wire, its own breaker and a power disconnect within sight of the unit.
Wireless Means Less Wiring
Because the controller is wireless, no control cable has to be run and concealed between the generator and the shower wall, which keeps the installation simpler and faster in a finished bathroom.
Sold separately: Inline water filter (required by SteamSpa), Pressure reducing valve and quick connect and release fittings (SteamSpa SSD-STMKIT installation kit), 3/4" steam pipe, 1/2" water supply and drain piping, 240V wiring and breaker
Installation
Electrical: 7.5 kW at 240V single phase draws 32A; run 8 AWG insulated copper wire rated 194°F and 300V on its own breaker, with a power disconnect within sight of the generator and a proper ground. Plumbing: a 1/2" hot or cold supply at 15 to 20 psi through a pressure reducing valve, the inline filter and a quick connect and release fitting, in copper or brass only (no PEX or PVC), with inlet water no hotter than 160°F. Run 3/4" copper or brass steam pipe with curved elbows, sloped so condensation drains back, with no valves and no dips, insulated where it can be touched, and keep it off any wall material not rated to 240°F. Mount the steamhead about 12" above the floor, outlet down and away from any bench, keep the temperature sensor or control off the steamhead wall, seal every pipe and fitting with 100% silicone caulk, and add an exhaust fan outside the steam room. Leave 12" of clearance on both sides and the top of the generator. SteamSpa requires a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber, and the installation manual is in Resources.
Care
Let the AutoDrain finish before you switch off the breaker, so the tank is empty. Replace the inline filter cartridge at least every 6 months, clean the water supply pipes once a year, and have the generator, steamhead, pipes and fittings checked for leaks every year. About every six months, a technician can remove the cover and clean scale off the water level sensor prong. Wipe the steamhead with soapy water and a soft sponge, never with harsh chemicals or abrasive tools. Children under 16 should not use the steam room, and because SteamSpa generators are not boilers, check with your local inspector before any commercial use.
