The SteamSpa RYTS600BN is a 6 kW Royal Series steam generator package with dual soft-touch control panels with a bright digital display, plus a brushed nickel square steamhead, without AutoDrain. This SteamSpa 6 kW steam shower generator turns a sealed shower enclosure of up to about 63 ft³ into a home steam room, and it suits a household that wants control from inside and outside the shower, color lighting, a water filter and square steamhead styling in one package.
The Royal package has two touch control panels: one inside the steam room and one outside, so you can start the generator from outside and adjust the steam from inside the room. SteamSpa's QuickStart technology brings steam in about 1 to 2 minutes, and the dual-tank design keeps it flowing without interruption. Either panel sets the steam time from 1 to 60 minutes and stores two favorite settings as SET1 and SET2, and the panels keep a real-time clock and switch between °F and °C. When the room reaches your temperature, the steam stops.
Sized for Steam Showers up to 63 ft³
SteamSpa's sizing chart lists its smallest cabin, 3' x 3' x 7' (63 ft³), for 4 kW to 6 kW, and the next row, a 3' x 4' x 7' cabin of 84 ft³, already calls for 7 kW to 9 kW, so 6 kW is the larger of the two sizes the chart gives for the smallest steam showers. SteamSpa adds that it is safe, and even recommended, to choose one size step above what the chart shows. At 6 kW the generator suits a compact steam shower that you want to heat up quickly, and because the steam is produced outside the enclosure, the shower itself only needs its steamhead, a control and a properly sealed enclosure.
Chromatherapy Light and Water Filter
A chromatherapy LED light sits in the ceiling of the steam room and adds color to the session, and steam enters through a brushed nickel square steamhead in solid steel with a built-in aroma reservoir, and the box includes three 10 ml aroma oil bottles. An inline water filter is included too: it sits on the water supply and traps rust, sediment and scale-forming minerals before they reach the tank, which protects the heating elements and is something SteamSpa requires on every installation.
Teflon Elements, Steel Steamhead, Relief Valve and Tank Drain
The heating elements are Teflon coated, which SteamSpa says resists scale and corrosion and outlasts traditional brass elements. This version has no AutoDrain, so the tank is emptied through the manual drain valve; the RYTS600BN-A model adds AutoDrain. The generator measures 15.75" W x 6.30" D x 14.57" H and holds 160 in³ of water, building steam at 4 psi, and a pressure relief valve opens automatically if the tank pressure ever passes 15 psi. The generator has a hanging groove for wall mounting and must be installed level, so its water level sensor reads correctly.
Power, Plumbing and Placement
Plan the power and plumbing before the walls close. At 6 kW the generator draws 25A at 240V single phase on 10 AWG copper wire, with its own breaker and a power disconnect within sight of the unit, and it can sit in a closet behind the shower, a vanity cabinet, the attic or the basement, as long as it stays indoors, dry, protected from freezing and less than 25' from the steam room.
With up to about 63 ft³ of steam room in reach and a brushed nickel square steamhead in the shower, the SteamSpa RYTS600BN gives you a complete 6 kW steam shower package from one brand, ready for a licensed electrician and plumber to install.
Features
6 kW for Rooms up to 63 ft³
SteamSpa's sizing chart matches 6 kW to a compact steam shower that you want to heat up quickly of up to about 63 ft³, so the generator is matched to the room's volume; SteamSpa says choosing one size up is safe and even recommended.
Dual Touch Control Panels
One panel inside the steam room and one outside let you start the steam before you step in and adjust it once you are seated, with two saved settings.
QuickStart Steam
SteamSpa's QuickStart technology brings steam in about 1 to 2 minutes, and the dual-tank design keeps it flowing continuously, so a session starts with little waiting.
Brushed Nickel Square Steamhead
Steam enters through a brushed nickel square steamhead in solid steel with a built-in aroma reservoir; tighten it by hand, mount it about 12" above the floor with the outlet pointing down, away from the bench.
Manual Drain, AutoDrain Optional
This version drains through the manual drain valve after use, which keeps the package simpler; choose the RYTS600BN-A model if you want the tank to empty itself automatically.
Teflon Heating Elements
Teflon-coated elements resist scale and corrosion and, as SteamSpa rates them, withstand high heat far longer than traditional brass elements, so the generator keeps its output.
Automatic Pressure Relief
A pressure relief valve comes in the package and opens automatically when tank pressure passes 15 psi, an added layer of protection for the generator and the home.
Inline Water Filter Included
The included inline filter traps rust, sediment and scale-forming minerals on the supply line, protecting the tank and elements, and SteamSpa requires one on every install.
Chromatherapy Lighting
A chromatherapy LED light mounts in the ceiling of the steam room and adds soft color to each session, and switches on and off from the control panel.
Standard 25A, 240V Circuit
At 6 kW the generator runs on a dedicated 25A, 240V single-phase circuit with 10 AWG copper wire, its own breaker and a power disconnect within sight of the unit.

Installation & Care
Installation
Electrical: 6 kW at 240V single phase draws 25A; run 10 AWG insulated copper wire rated 194°F and 300V on its own breaker, with a power disconnect within sight of the generator and a proper ground. Plumbing: a 1/2" hot or cold supply at 15 to 20 psi through a pressure reducing valve, the inline filter and a quick connect and release fitting, in copper or brass only (no PEX or PVC), with inlet water no hotter than 160°F. Run 3/4" copper or brass steam pipe with curved elbows, sloped so condensation drains back, with no valves and no dips, insulated where it can be touched, and keep it off any wall material not rated to 240°F. Mount the steamhead about 12" above the floor, outlet down and away from any bench, keep the temperature sensor or control off the steamhead wall, seal every pipe and fitting with 100% silicone caulk, and add an exhaust fan outside the steam room. Leave 12" of clearance on both sides and the top of the generator. SteamSpa requires a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber, and the installation manual is in Resources.
Care
Drain the tank through the drain valve after use so minerals do not settle. Replace the inline filter cartridge at least every 6 months, clean the water supply pipes once a year, and have the generator, steamhead, pipes and fittings checked for leaks every year. About every six months, a technician can remove the cover and clean scale off the water level sensor prong. Wipe the steamhead with soapy water and a soft sponge, never with harsh chemicals or abrasive tools. Children under 16 should not use the steam room, and because SteamSpa generators are not boilers, check with your local inspector before any commercial use.
