The Unger EZ Flat Mop Holder (SM40G, SM40R) is a 16" (40 cm) flat mop frame with a pivoting, low profile head, offered as the gray SmartColor EZ Flat Mop Holder SM40G and the red Restroom EZ Flat Mop Holder SM40R. The Unger 16" flat mop holder is made for professional floor cleaning in offices, schools, hospitals and retail and hospitality spaces, where staff need to reach under furniture and into corners with a mop that changes quickly.
Quick Release Pad Changes
The holder's quick release mechanism holds mop pads securely in place and allows fast, convenient pad changes. Holding clips grip the mop, and the mop can stay on the frame during wringing. When it is time to wring or replace the mop, the frame folds at the push of a button.
Because the frame works with a wide range of flat mop pads, one holder can serve several floor care tasks. Unger's Excella Micro Mop 10.0 (EFPMG), a 16" looped pile microfiber pad, is specified for use with the SM40G and SM40R.
Pivoting, Low Profile Head
The pivoting, low profile head gives access to hard to reach areas such as under furniture, and the swivel head uses a no spin design. Its large surface provides more direct cleaning contact and more scrubbing pressure on the floor, and it reaches into corners. The handle socket accepts cones or handles with 21 mm and 23 mm diameters.
Each holder measures 16" long, 4.3" wide and 7.2" high and weighs 1 lb. The plastic build keeps the frame lightweight and ergonomic to reduce fatigue during extended cleaning sessions, while standing up to regular use in high traffic environments.
SmartColor Gray or Restroom Red
Both colors are part of Unger's SmartColor color coding approach, which assigns tools to designated areas so a mop used in one zone is not carried into another. The gray SM40G is the SmartColor version, and the red SM40R is the restroom version. In Unger's Restroom Specialist cleaning procedures the holder is used with the SmartColor Micro Mop MM40R and an Ergo TelePole, and the red SM40R is part of the RestroomRx cart system.
For custodial teams that want quick pad changes, a low profile head and color coded zones, the Unger EZ Flat Mop Holder 16" in gray or red gives a dependable flat mop frame for daily floor care.

Installation
Fit a cone or handle of 21 mm or 23 mm diameter into the handle socket. Press the button to fold the frame, place the flat mop pad and secure it with the holding clips, then unfold the frame so the pad lies flat. Fold the frame again to wring or replace the mop.
Care
Remove pads after each use for laundering. Rinse or wipe the frame, clips and pivot with a damp cloth, let the holder dry and store it with the tools of its color zone so gray and red holders stay separated.
