Unger HydroPower Ultra Resin Packs (UHPR1, UHPR2, UHPR3) are the replacement deionizing resin cartridges for the HydroPower Ultra pure water window cleaning system. Each pack is factory filled with mixed bed ion exchange resin, and Unger HydroPower Ultra resin packs drop straight into the tank, so a resin change takes a quick swap rather than pouring loose resin.
Which Pack for Which Tank
The range covers both HydroPower Ultra tanks. UHPR1 is a single green pack for the Small Tank Unit (UHP01), and UHPR2 is a set of three green packs for the same small tank. UHPR3 refills the Large Tank Unit (UHP3C), which takes one green pack in the top position and two red packs below it. Red packs are never used in the small tank.
All HydroPower Ultra units require mixed bed ion exchange resin, and the packs are designed to allow a controlled resin expansion within a designed safety limit. FloWater Technology optimizes the water flow through the resin for efficient use, and Unger states the packs deliver up to 30% more pure water per filling.
How Much Pure Water per Change
Output between resin changes depends on the hardness of the tap water. The harder the water, the more resin it consumes. Unger's production estimate, based on a TDS of 10 as the limit for pure water and 39 gal/h of flow, puts the small single stage tank at more than 500 gal in soft water (under 100 TDS), 350 to 500 gal in medium water (100 to 250 TDS), 100 to 350 gal in hard water (250 to 400 TDS) and under 100 gal in very hard water. The three stage large tank reaches more than 1,600 gal in soft water, 1,050 to 1,600 gal in medium and 350 to 1,050 gal in hard water. These values are guidelines and vary by region, so test the site water before the job.
When the built in TDS meter on the tank reads 10 ppm, the resin is spent and the pack should be replaced. Keeping a spare set on the van means a crew can change packs on site and keep producing deionized water for streak free, chemical free window cleaning on high rise commercial buildings, storefronts, public buildings and residential windows and glass doors.
For a single small tank, UHPR1 covers one change. UHPR2 stocks three changes for the small tank, and UHPR3 provides the full three pack fill for the large tank.
Factory Filled Mixed Bed DI Resin
Each pack holds mixed bed ion exchange resin, the deionizing resin every HydroPower Ultra unit requires. Tap water leaves the tank at zero TDS for spot free glass.
Up to 30% More Pure Water per Filling
FloWater Technology optimizes the water flow through the resin. Unger states the packs give up to 30% more pure water per filling, which means fewer changes.
Color Coded for Each Tank
Green packs fit the small tank (UHP01) and the top position of the large tank (UHP3C). Red packs go only in the large tank below the green pack.
Quick Pack Changes
Release the head assembly with the yellow FastLock lever, lift out the old pack by its rubber handle and seat the new one handle up. No loose resin to pour.
Controlled Resin Expansion
The packs are designed to allow a controlled resin expansion within a designed safety limit inside the pressurized tank.
Chemical Free Cleaning
Deionized water cleans glass without detergents or chemicals. Use it on high rise buildings, storefronts and residential windows.
Large Tank, 3 Packs (UHPR3)
Small Tank, 3 Packs (UHPR2)
Small Tank, 1 Pack (UHPR1)
Installation
Shut off the feed water: depress the yellow lever on the system head, turn the tap water valve off and disconnect the pole hose. While holding the yellow lever down, release the head assembly with a counter-clockwise quarter turn and lift it off. Remove the spent packs and install the new ones with the rubber handle facing up, patting each pack down by hand so it seats properly. Small tank: 1 green pack. Large tank: 1 green pack in the top position over 2 red packs. Never use a red pack in the small tank.
Care
Replace the packs when the tank's TDS meter reads 10 ppm. Inflowing water must not exceed 86°F, and the tank should be used at site temperatures of 41°F to 104°F, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

Unger was founded in 1964 by Henry Unger, a working window cleaner who set out to make the tools commercial cleaners use every day easier, more efficient and safer to work with. Unger Enterprises, LLC runs its US business from Bridgeport, Connecticut, and its professional range covers outdoor and indoor window cleaning, pure water window cleaning systems, dusting and high access cleaning, floor care and mopping, restroom cleaning and litter removal tools.
Ultra Resin Packs refill Unger's HydroPower Ultra tanks, found in the HydroPower Ultra 16K Entry Kits at 33' and 40'. Unger also lists UHPR1 and UHPR2 as the resin stage in the HydroPower Nano system, where the packs sit after the membrane. Related tools include the nLITE Carbon 16K Telescopic Pole, the nLITE Carbon 16K Starter Kits and the flagged nLITE Power Brush.
Each pack drops into the tank as one unit, so a spare set can travel on the van.
Change them when the TDS meter on the tank reads 10 ppm.
A red ring marks the packs made for the lower positions of the Large Tank Unit (UHP3C), beneath one green pack.
Red packs never go in the small tank, which takes a single green pack.
