Where each filter sits

Where each filter sits

Every Aeroclean cabinet stacks three stages behind the sliding intake door: a pad pre-filter, a ring panel and the HEPA filter, with the motor-blower after them. The first stage takes particles of about 10 microns and larger, the ring panel about 1 micron and larger.

The two pre-filters exist to protect the HEPA cell, which is the expensive one to replace.

Carbon options for odor

Carbon options for odor

When a job has odor or vapor as well as dust, a carbon filter can take the place of the ring panel. Carbon pleat is the low-cost option; Carbon-Webb is an activated carbon filter in a frame that should run behind two pad filters so dust does not clog the pellets.

Gas-phase filters replace the HEPA stage itself for vapor work.

Change intervals that hold airflow

Change intervals that hold airflow

On a 24-hour cycle, change the first-stage pad daily, check the ring panel each time and replace it about weekly. Aerospace America suggests a new HEPA filter about every 350 hours of use, and asks that the unit not run once the gauge reads past 3.0".

Dispose of filters from asbestos, mold or lead work as the job requires.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

How do I pick the right filter size?

Match the size to the machine: 24" x 24" for the 2000 CFM class units, 24" x 16" for the Mighty Mite, 16" x 16" for the 600 MAG and 1000V, 24" x 18" for the 1900 Magnum, and 12" x 12" for the 600EV and 500 Variable.

How often do the pre-filters need replacing?

On a 24-hour working cycle the first-stage pad should be changed daily, and the second-stage ring filter checked each time and replaced about weekly. Both protect the HEPA filter, which is the expensive stage.

How often should the HEPA filter be changed?

Aerospace America suggests a new HEPA filter about every 350 hours of use, sooner on dusty jobs. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge: a clean set of filters reads about 1.8" to 2.2" of water column, and the unit should not run past 3.0".

When should I use a carbon filter?

When a job has odor or vapor as well as dust. Carbon pleat and Carbon-Webb filters take the place of the ring panel, and a gas-phase carbon filter takes the place of the HEPA filter. The carbon options sold for each size are listed in its Filter menu.

Can I use non-Aerospace filters?

Aerospace America asks that only its own or recommended replacement filters be used; other filters void the product warranty and its performance claims.
