HEPA filtration on compressed air

HEPA filtration on compressed air

The 9169 keeps the Aeroclean three-stage layout, a 24" x 24" pad pre-filter, a ring filter and a 24" x 24" x 12" HEPA filter ahead of the blower, but drives the blower with a 1.7 HP air motor instead of an electric one. There is no electric motor and no power cord.

Aerospace America rates the unit spark resistant, and it conforms to AMCA Standard 99-0401 Type C. Check your site's own requirements for equipment used around explosive vapors.

Standard 24" x 24" filter set

Standard 24" x 24" filter set

The 9169 takes the same 2000-01 pad, 2000-02 ring filter and 2000-03 HEPA filter as the electric 2000 CFM class Aeroclean units, so one stock of filters covers a mixed fleet. Speed is set with the pressure regulator, from 0 up to 2000 CFM.

Check the water column gauge as the filters load, and change the pad and ring filter first when the reading climbs.

The 9169 is built in the same aircraft-grade aluminum as the rest of the Aeroclean range, at 26" x 26" x 32" and 119 lbs on four casters with four handles.

Plan the air supply first: the machine needs compressed air at 100 PSI, and the lubricator must be kept topped up with SAE 10W oil.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

Why choose a pneumatic air scrubber?

The 9169 runs on compressed air rather than an electric motor. Aerospace America describes it as spark resistant and offers it for HEPA filtration where explosive vapors or materials are present; it conforms to AMCA Standard 99-0401 Type C.

What air supply does the 9169 need?

Compressed air at 100 PSI. Air consumption is not published, so confirm your compressor can hold that pressure at full speed.

Does the air motor need oil?

Yes. The front lubricator takes SAE 10W motor oil, either high detergent or non-detergent. It is filled at the factory; check the level before each job and top it up when low.

How is the speed adjusted?

With the pressure regulator on the front of the machine, from 0 to 2000 CFM.

What filters does the 9169 use?

The 2000-01 24" x 24" pad, the 2000-02 24" x 24" ring filter and the 2000-03 24" x 24" x 12" HEPA filter, sold in the Aeroclean 2000 CFM Series replacement filter listing.
