The Bellaterra Home BACKSPLASH-BG-31 is a 31" Black Galaxy granite backsplash for a bathroom vanity top, a strip of genuine stone 4" tall and 0.67" thick that stands along the back edge of the vanity top, where the counter meets the wall. It suits anyone installing a new Bellaterra Home top, finishing a remodel or replacing a stained or missing backsplash, and its main job is to keep splashed water off the wall.
Why a Backsplash Matters at the Sink
Water travels further than you expect at a bathroom sink. Hand washing, face rinsing and tooth brushing all throw drops onto the counter. The drops that land at the back edge have nowhere to go except into the seam between the top and the wall. Over time that seam lets moisture reach the paint and drywall. Bellaterra designs this backsplash to protect the wall from water damage: it covers the seam and gives splashes a hard surface to land on instead.
The backsplash is cut from genuine Black Galaxy granite. It is a natural material, so the veining, color and pattern differ from one piece to the next, and the piece you receive will not look exactly like the photos. This variation in pattern and color does not affect how the backsplash performs; it is part of what makes a stone backsplash look like stone rather than a printed surface.
Bellaterra finishes the face with a polished, smooth surface and polishes the edges as well, so the exposed top edge and the ends look finished where they meet the wall and the counter. A smooth polished face is easy to maintain: toothpaste, soap film and water spots wipe off with a damp cloth instead of settling into a rough texture.
Sizing the 31" Backsplash
The BACKSPLASH-BG-31 measures 31" long, 4" tall and 0.67" thick, and weighs 9 lb, light enough for one person to lift and set on the top. Measure the back edge of your vanity top before you order and pick the length that matches it, so the ends line up with the sides of the top.
Bellaterra offers this Black Galaxy granite backsplash in 24", 25", 30", 31", 35.4", 36", 37", 43", 48", 49", 55", 61" and 62". It matches a variety of Bellaterra Home counter tops, and a matching Black Galaxy granite sidesplash is available separately for a top that meets a side wall.
Installation is simple. Installation calls for silicone caulking, sold separately: you run a bead along the back edge of the top, press the backsplash into it against the wall and seal the joints so water cannot get behind it.
For a finished Black Galaxy granite line at the sink and a wall that stays dry, the Bellaterra Home BACKSPLASH-BG-31 31" backsplash is a simple way to complete a Bellaterra Home vanity top.
Features
Genuine Black Galaxy Granite
The BACKSPLASH-BG-31 is cut from genuine Black Galaxy granite, a natural material with its own veining and color, so the strip behind your sink is real stone rather than a printed laminate.
31" Backsplash, 4" Tall, 0.67" Thick
At 31" long, 4" tall and 0.67" thick, it covers the back edge of the top and closes the seam between the counter and the wall where splashes collect.
Light Enough to Handle
The backsplash weighs 9 lb, so one person can lift it, test the fit and press it into the caulk bead without a helper.
Polished Smooth Finish
Bellaterra polishes the face to a smooth finish that is easy to maintain, so soap film, toothpaste and water spots wipe away with a damp cloth.
Polished Edges
The edges are polished too, so the exposed top edge and both ends look finished where the backsplash meets the wall and the counter.
Protects the Wall From Water
Bellaterra designs the backsplash to protect the wall from water damage by covering the seam where sink splashes would otherwise seep into paint and drywall.
Sets With Silicone Caulking
Installation is easy: a bead of silicone caulking, sold separately, holds the backsplash on the top and seals it against the wall.
Matching Sidesplash Available
The backsplash matches a variety of Bellaterra Home counter tops, and the matching Black Galaxy granite sidesplash is sold separately to finish the side wall.

Installation & Care
Installation
Dry-fit the BACKSPLASH-BG-31 on the vanity top against the wall before you open the caulk and check that the length suits the back edge of the top. Clean and dry the top, the wall and the back of the backsplash, run a bead of silicone caulking along the back edge, press the backsplash into place and run a thin bead along the joints. Let the silicone cure as its maker directs before the sink is used.
Care
Wipe the backsplash with a damp, non-abrasive cloth and dry it. Wipe spills off granite and marble right away to avoid staining, and keep abrasive cleaners, steel wool and harsh chemicals off the stone because they can scratch and dull it. Variations in grain, color and mineral streaks are natural stone characteristics, not defects.
