Cable is fed up through the CAP's opening, where horsehair bristles close around it and two sets of rollers above the tile take the friction of the pull. On the CAP Classic the opening is 2" x 6".
The ceiling stays closed while the crew works, so the room below gets far less of the dust and debris that an open tile lets fall, and the cable arrives without nicks from the grid edge.
On the back of each CAP, two sets of rollers sit over the opening so wire and cable move across them smoothly in any direction. The bristles and rollers are both replaceable when they wear.
Lower friction means fewer people on the pull and less risk of damaging the jacket, which is the reason HEPACART built the CAP as a productivity tool for cabling crews.
The CAP lays flat and flush in the ceiling grid with the protected opening facing down and the rollers facing up, and it can be secured to the building structure through the holes at each corner.
That makes it suitable for pulling cable above classrooms, offices and patient areas that stay in use, and for leaving in place when more cable will be pulled later.

Match the opening to the job: Classic (2" x 6") for small or mid-size bundles, Vision to see the pull, Fiber (2" x 20") for fiber optic cable, Conduit (6" x 6") for flexible conduit, Bundle (6" x 20") for the largest pulls, Corner for 90-degree turns, and Duct for a 12" duct.
Yes, with a CAP Extend beside it. Every model here is 24" x 24"; the CAP Extend fills the other half of a 2' x 4' tile. The CAP Access is the native 2' x 4' version.
The opening is protected by horsehair bristles that close around the cable and keep dust, dirt and debris from falling into the space below.
Yes. The horsehair bristles and rollers are replaceable, and HEPACART sells a brush replacement kit (CAP-BRK) for the standard CAP.
Yes. A CAP can lay flat in the grid for a single pull, or be secured to the building structure through the holes at each corner and left in place.
