The CoolGuard CTK-2 builds a complete condensate trap at the air handler's 3/4" primary drain outlet, with an overflow float switch built into its water tank. If the drain clogs and water rises, the switch opens the 24VAC thermostat circuit and stops the system. The trap is clear, so you can see buildup, and two capped tees give you access for a cleaning brush.
It handles drain lines sloped up to 45 degrees, and the switch is rated 1.25 amps for Class 2 circuits. That is the CoolGuard Condensate Trap Kit with Overflow Switch.
Features
Trap and Switch in One
A float switch on a water tank sits right in the trap assembly, so one kit handles both the trap and overflow protection.
Clear, Cleanable Trap
The 3/4" clear trap shows sludge before it blocks, and the capped tees take a cleaning brush.
Stops the System on a Clog
Breaks the 24VAC control circuit when water backs up, before the pan overflows.
Handles Sloped Lines
Works on drain installations sloped as steeply as 45 degrees.
Removable Cap
Lift the cap to check the float and its condition during maintenance.
Class 2 Rated
24VAC and 1.25 amps, approved for Class 2 thermostat circuits.

Installation
Homeowner-installable. This accessory is part of MRCOOL's DIY range and is installed following the instructions in MRCOOL's manual, including any wrench, torque or leak-check steps it lists. Check local electrical and building codes for any wiring or wall penetrations.
Thread the connector into the 3/4" primary drain pan outlet, dry-fit the tank, trap and tees, mark them, then glue the assembly so it hangs plumb and fit the drain caps. The outgoing drain line needs a downward slope. Turn off power at the panel and wire the switch into the thermostat circuit per the diagram on the package, then lift the float to confirm the system stops.

About MRCOOL
MRCOOL designs heating, cooling and water-heating equipment from its home base in Hickory, Kentucky. The range runs from DIY ductless mini-splits, built around MRCOOL's patented pre-charged Quick Connect line sets, through contractor-installed mini-splits, central split systems, packaged units and gas furnaces, to HeatWise water heaters and CoolBlade HVLS fans for warehouses and shops.
CoolGuard is a condensate management line that MRCOOL distributes for ductless and ducted equipment. It covers the parts that carry water away from an air handler and the safety switches that stop the system before a blocked drain can overflow: condensate pumps, float switches, a condensate trap kit with its own overflow switch, and drain line sized for mini-split heads. For outdoor condenser supports, see the CoolGuard equipment pad and Weldbracket.
