Cordless charged spraying you wear

The EX7000 pumps a water-soluble solution at 75 psi to a nozzle in the wand, where a bipolar power supply charges the droplets as they leave. The charged mist, around 76 microns, is pulled toward nearby surfaces and settles on their edges and undersides instead of only the face you aim at.

For a crew, that means treating a room in one steady walk-through with no cord to manage and no outlet to find, and less solution wasted to runoff and overspray.

Inside the charging spray wand

Inside the charging spray wand

Solution reaches the wand through the hydroelectric cord, and a fan behind the nozzle drives the atomized droplets out at 1,742 fpm. On the way out they pass a charging ring, so each droplet carries an electrostatic charge that draws it to the target.

The practical result is coverage on the sides and backs of chair legs, handles and rails that a trigger bottle misses. Keep the wand 24"-36" from the surface and keep it moving so the mist does not pool.

Working a room back to the door

Working a room back to the door

Start at the corner farthest from the door and work back toward it, sweeping the wand in a steady S pattern from low to high with each pass overlapping the last. Aim below, at and above each surface as you pass, so you can step out of a finished room without walking through it.

Electronics, paper and furniture can stay where they are; cover or remove valuables, cover food and drinks, and clear loose debris first. Leave the surface wet for the contact time on your chemical's label.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

Can I use my own disinfectant in the EX7000?

Yes, as long as it is water-soluble and non-flammable. EMist recommends products on the EPA's List N whose labels allow electrostatic application. Always follow the chemical label, including its protective equipment and contact time.

How long does a battery last and how long does it take to charge?

EMist rates battery life at 2 hours of continuous spraying. The sprayer runs on one battery, and the second port lets you fit the spare for a longer shift. Each battery takes about 45 minutes to recharge.

Does the sprayer need to be grounded?

No. Its charge-detect circuit senses the polarity of the operator and the equipment and adjusts automatically, so no grounding strap or bonding is needed.

How far from the surface should I spray?

Hold the wand 24"-36" from the surface and keep moving. If the wand drips or the surface shows runs or puddles, you are moving too slowly and applying too much.

How do I clean the EX7000 after use?

Empty the tank, add at least 1" of clean water and spray for 1-2 minutes. Flush at least every 24 hours and whenever you change chemicals, never leave solution in the tank for more than 24 hours, and store the unit where it cannot freeze.

Can I use it without wearing it?

Yes. The power pack can be carried by its molded handles or mounted on the EMist EX7000 pull cart, which is sold separately and takes the place of the harness.
