The ANZZI FT-AZ098-59BK is the 59" Chand Series freestanding soaking tub in glossy black. Chand is ANZZI's ergonomic, flat-bottom acrylic soaker: a one-piece tub whose interior is shaped to the body, so you lean back into a supported curve instead of a straight wall. It is for anyone who wants a deep, quiet soak at the end of the day without jets, wiring or a tiled deck, and this 59" freestanding bathtub measures 59" L x 29.5" W x 22.8" H overall, has a 41.73" x 21.6" sitting area, gives 13.98" of soaking depth and holds 79 gallons of water.
Shaped to Hold You, Not Just the Water
ANZZI's design brief for Chand is comfort from the first soak. The back slopes and the interior curves so your shoulders, back and hips are all supported at once, which is what lets you relax rather than brace yourself against the side. The flat bottom gives a steady footing when you step in and out, and because it is a non-jetted soaker there is no pump, no motor noise and nothing to wire: you fill it, close the push-operated drain and sit back.
At 59" long, the middle Chand is roughly the length of a standard 5' tub, which makes it the easy choice when you are replacing a built-in tub with a freestanding one and want to keep the room's layout, with a 41.73" x 21.6" sitting area. The built-in chrome overflow sits below the rim, so the tub can be filled deep without the risk of water reaching the floor if the faucet runs a little long.
One Piece of Marine Grade Acrylic
The shell is a single piece of marine grade acrylic, which ANZZI says stays strong and durable year after year, and the whole tub is RHINO ALLOY certified to ANZZI's quality standard. One-piece construction means no joints or seams in the basin to collect grime or open up over time. In glossy black, the outside of the tub becomes the dark accent in a white or stone bathroom, while the high gloss finish keeps it reading as a polished fixture rather than a flat block of color.
It arrives pre-plumbed, with the chrome overflow and center drain already fitted, so the installer only has to connect the drain to the floor waste line and level the tub. A center drain sits under the middle of the tub, which keeps the drain position the same whichever way you face the tub in the room.
Chand is sold as the tub alone so you can choose the filler. Pair it with a floor-mounted freestanding tub filler, roughed in beside the tub; ANZZI says any ANZZI freestanding faucet pairs with it and recommends the FS-AZ0047CH.
Whether it anchors a primary suite or a smaller bath, the ANZZI FT-AZ098-59BK Chand freestanding tub gives you a contoured, deep soak in 79 gallons of water, in a one-piece acrylic shell that is quick to keep clean.
Features
Contoured, Ergonomic Interior
The basin is shaped to follow the body, so your back and shoulders rest on a curve rather than a flat wall, which makes a long soak comfortable instead of something you sit up through.
59" Size With 13.98" Soaking Depth
This size measures 59" L x 29.5" W x 22.8" H and holds 79 gallons, with 13.98" of soaking depth and a 41.73" x 21.6" sitting area, so you can check the fit against your floor before you buy.
Flat Bottom for Sure Footing
The flat floor of the tub gives a stable place to stand while you step in, rinse or step out, which matters most on a freestanding tub with a tall side wall.
Marine Grade Acrylic, One Piece
The tub is one piece of marine grade acrylic with no seams in the basin, so there are no joints to leak or collect grime, and the high gloss surface wipes clean with soap and water.
Chrome Overflow and Push Drain
A built-in chrome overflow and a push-operated center drain come fitted, so you fill deep without worrying about the rim and open the drain with a press of a foot or hand.
Glossy Black Finish
The glossy black high gloss finish is part of the acrylic shell, and the Chand also comes in glossy white, so you can pick the color that works against your floor and walls.
Pre-Plumbed, RHINO ALLOY Certified
The tub ships pre-plumbed and RHINO ALLOY certified, which shortens the install to connecting the drain and leveling the tub rather than building a deck or skirt.

Installation & Care
Installation
Freestanding, center drain. Overall 59" L x 29.5" W x 22.8" H; plan open floor around the tub for the filler and for cleaning, and a floor that can carry the tub plus 79 gallons of water and a bather. Rough in the supply for a floor-mounted freestanding filler before the tub is set. ANZZI water tests its tubs at the factory, and its install guide asks you to repeat the test before the tub is set for good: on a flat surface, close the drain, fill the tub about half way, wait 30 minutes and check every seal. Then trace the tub's position on the floor, mark where the drain falls, set the tub, connect the drain and level it with the adjustable feet; the guide notes that a tub that leaks is almost always one that is not level. The flexible drain in the box is for that test only, and the installer supplies the permanent drain connection. Finish with a bead of silicone around the base and give it 24 hours to set before the first bath.
Care
Clean the acrylic regularly with regular soap and hot water on a non-abrasive cloth or sponge, which stops soap scum and mineral deposits from building up into a film that is harder to remove. If you need a stronger cleaner, test it on an inconspicuous area first, wipe it on, then rinse the surface completely with water right away and dry any overspray on the floor or the faucet; never let a cleaner soak on the tub. Avoid scouring pads and powders, which dull a gloss finish.
