The ANZZI GD-AZ212 is a MEDUSA 1/2 HP high-speed continuous feed garbage disposal that mounts under the kitchen sink and grinds food scraps so they wash away down the drain.
Grind as You Go
Continuous feed means you run the disposal like the faucet: turn on the tap, switch the disposal on, and feed scraps in. Inside, stainless steel grinding elements and a stainless steel turntable, driven by a high-speed AC motor at 1700 RPM, break kitchen waste into tiny fragments with two-stage multi-level grinding.
It handles fruit peel, leftovers, fish bones, eggshells and other small bones. Keep out large bones, whole corn cobs, shells and large fruit pits, which can cause a blockage, and never put in glass, metal, plastic, hot grease or chemicals.
Quiet, Compact, Grounded and GFCI-Protected
The noise-reducing design keeps the disposal no louder than the water flow from your faucet, and its compact body is engineered to fit tighter sink cabinets. It arrives with a pre-installed power cord with a three-prong grounding plug; never remove the ground pin or use a ground adapter.
The disposal also has a dishwasher inlet: knock out the drain plug inside and connect the dishwasher hose with a hose clamp, so the dishwasher drains through it. It is compatible with most household dishwashers.
Low Maintenance by Design
The disposal cleans its internal parts each time you use it. A leak at the top may be due to the sink flange seating or the support ring; a leak at the waste elbow, to the elbow flange screws.
For a cleaner kitchen and less food waste in the trash, the ANZZI GD-AZ212 continuous feed garbage disposal gives 1/2 HP of grinding power from a compact unit.
1/2 HP High-Speed AC Motor
The 1/2 HP high-speed AC motor runs at 1700 RPM and is rated for 120V, 60Hz power.
Two-Stage Multi-Level Grinding
ANZZI's two-stage multi-level grinding uses stainless steel grinding elements to break kitchen waste into tiny fragments.
Continuous Feed Operation
Continuous feed means scraps go in while the tap and the disposal are both running.
Quiet Operation
The noise-reducing design keeps the disposal no louder than the water flowing from your faucet.
Three-Prong Cord, GFCI Socket
The factory-installed three-prong cord connects only to a GFCI-protected grounded 110 to 120V socket, never through a ground adapter; it detaches for hardwiring.
Dishwasher Connection
Knock out the inlet plug and clamp on the dishwasher hose, so your dishwasher drains through the disposal.
Stainless Steel Turntable
The stainless steel turntable will not corrode, even when mineral deposits make it look discolored.
Self-Cleaning, No Lubrication
The motor is permanently lubricated, and the disposal scours its own internal parts each time it is used.
Easy Jam Recovery
With the power unplugged or switched off, a hex wrench in the bottom center hole frees a jam and a red reset button restarts the motor.
Sold separately: Plumber's putty, Dedicated wall or air switch
Installation
Disconnect power first, and never position your head or body under the disposer while installing or removing it, since it could fall. Mounts to a standard sink drain opening: seat the sink flange on a 1/2" rope of plumber's putty, fit the gaskets, mounting ring and snap ring underneath and tighten the three mounting screws evenly, then hang the disposal on the ring's ramps and lock it with the wrench. Attach the discharge tube, trimming it if needed, and connect the dishwasher hose after knocking out the plug if required. Plug into a grounded 110 to 120V, 60 Hz outlet protected by a GFCI, controlled by a dedicated switch with a marked Off position within sight of the sink; if no such outlet exists, have one installed by a qualified electrician to local electrical codes. Fill the sink two-thirds with water, run it and check for leaks. To hardwire it, first turn off electric power at the fuse box or circuit breaker (shock hazard); the cord detaches, and the cord used must be an American Standard SJT 16AWG x 3C cord. Otherwise, please consult a professional electrician. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a cord assembly available through Customer Service.
Care
Run water while grinding, and switch the disposer off before the tap. Never put lye or chemical drain cleaners into the disposal, as they corrode metal parts; do not try to lubricate it, since the motor is permanently lubricated. Remove dropped objects with long-handled tongs after switching off and unplugging, never with your hand. If the unit stops working, unplug the power cord or turn the wall switch or breaker box switch to the OFF position. Insert one end of the hex wrench into the center hole on the bottom of the disposer and work the wrench back and forth until it runs one complete revolution. Reach into the disposer with tongs and remove the object(s). Push the red reset button on the disposer bottom. Close supervision is required when an appliance is used near children. Do not use the sink containing the disposer for purposes other than food preparation (such as baby bathing or washing hair). Regularly inspect the disposer and plumbing fittings for water leaks.
