J&D Confined Space Ventilator Fan, 20" Diamond Brite, 1 HP

What it is

The J&D Confined Space Ventilator is a positive-pressure ventilation fan for manholes, crawl spaces, attics, tanks, enclosed trailers and other restricted spaces where air quality and ventilation matter. It pairs J&D's patented 20" Diamond Brite aluminum fan housing with a 1 HP direct drive motor and an 8-blade, high-output poly prop designed to keep performing under the static pressure that ducting adds.

Fan only or with duct

J&D sells it two ways. The fan-only model (VICS20) is rated at 3,780 CFM of thrust. The fan with 20' of ducting (VICS20-GLB) adds a 24" high-visibility safety-yellow duct, and J&D rates that combination at 3,025 CFM measured through the duct.

The duct

The duct is flame-retardant fabric thermally sealed to an ASTM-approved helical wire. It expands from 18" collapsed to 20' fully extended, and a cuff with an adjustable clasp secures it to the fan for quick setup. Each bend and each extra length of duct adds friction and lowers the airflow, so keep runs short and straight where you can.

Motor and build

The motor is totally enclosed and maintenance-free with sealed ball bearings, draws 9.0 A at 115V, and has no belts to maintain. The wire guards are powder coated and meet OSHA 1910.212(a)(5), and the fan has handles, rubber feet and a cord wrap. J&D covers it for 1 year against defects, and the motor carries J&D's 2-year motor warranty.

Orders are processed in 1 to 2 business days, then J&D Manufacturing ships them by freight truck (LTL) from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Ship times vary by model and some are built to order, so we confirm the ship date by email after you order. Shipping is free to a business address in the lower 48 states with a loading dock or forklift; contact us before you order if you need residential, liftgate or appointment delivery, or delivery to Alaska or Hawaii. You'll get tracking by email as soon as it leaves J&D.

Inspect the packaging and the product before you sign. Note any damage or shortage on the delivery receipt, then email photos to support@mycleansupplies.com within 48 hours of delivery so the freight claim can be filed. Damage reported after 48 hours can't be claimed.

Unused J&D equipment in its original packaging can be returned within 14 days of delivery. Ask us for a return authorization before you ship. Returns carry J&D's restocking fee of up to 25%, you pay the return shipping, and the shipping we paid to deliver it and payment processing fees are not refunded. Built-to-order, special-order and non-stock items are final sale, and installed or used equipment can't be returned.

J&D covers the Confined Space Ventilator Fan for 1 year from the J&D invoice date against defects in materials and workmanship, and its motor for 2 years. Misuse, abuse, alterations, improper installation or operation, lack of maintenance and non-J&D parts void the warranty, and normal wear, cosmetic rust or corrosion, freight, removal, installation and labor are not covered.

Warranty claims. Contact us with your order number, model and J&D part number. We file the claim with J&D, which decides whether to repair, replace or credit the product. Keep the product clean, dry and stored until it does, because J&D may ask for it back.

The Confined Space Ventilator is built on the 20" Diamond Brite drum fan, with a 1 HP motor and an 8-blade prop in place of the standard fan's 1/2 HP motor and 3-blade aluminum prop. For open-floor air movement rather than duct work, the Diamond Brite and Galvanized drum fans go up to 48" and 23,500 CFM.
