Two ducts keep the room balanced

Two ducts keep the room balanced

The PHP uses KwiKool's I/O integral condenser: both the condenser make-up air and the discharge air are ducted, so the unit does not pull the conditioned room into negative pressure and keeps all of its rated capacity in the space.

The two-duct ceiling kit connects both openings to the ceiling plenum and is sold separately. Each condenser duct can run up to 25'.

Optional chutes for spot delivery

Optional chutes for spot delivery

Out of the box the PHP supplies air through an adjustable vent. Optional supply air chutes clip on to direct the cooled or heated air at a workstation, a person or a piece of equipment.

Use the vent to condition a small room evenly, and add the chutes when the job is a hot or cold spot rather than the whole space.

Heats more than it cools

Heats more than it cools

The PHP is a heat pump, so the same compressor that cools in summer runs in reverse to heat in winter, and its heating rating is higher than its cooling rating. It heats in rooms from 40°F to 80°F and cools from 60°F to 110°F.

That makes it a safe alternative to exposed heat strips for job trailers, offices and storage rooms. Below 60°F, standard units are not designed to cool, and low-ambient controls are a special-order option.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

Does the PHP heat as well as cool?

Yes. It is a heat pump: it cools when the room is between 60°F and 110°F and heats when the room is between 40°F and 80°F. Its heating rating is higher than its cooling rating.

What circuit does it need?

Both models run on 115V single-phase. The KPHP1811-3 has a NEMA 5-15 plug and a 15 A recommended breaker; the KPHP2211-3 has a NEMA 5-20 plug and needs a 20 A circuit.

Where does the condensate go?

The PHP comes standard with an external 5-gallon condensate tank with a float switch that stops the unit and sounds an alarm when it is full. The tank can be replaced with a drain line for continuous use.

Do I need a ceiling kit?

Both condenser openings need somewhere to go. KwiKool's two-duct ceiling kit, sold separately, connects them to a drop ceiling: the CK-12 for the KPHP1811-3 and the CK-24 for the KPHP2211-3.

Is the PHP meant for home use?

No. KwiKool designs its equipment for commercial and industrial applications, and the warranty covers commercial and industrial purchasers.
