The Ambassador 20 drives itself: a traction drive with a forward/reverse switch and a working speed dial moves it along while a 100 psi pump feeds four quick-disconnect jets, a 4" brush turns at 1040 RPM and a spring-loaded stainless steel vac shoe recovers the water across a 20" path.
The vac shoe pivots with the carpet and disengages in reverse, so backing out of a corner does not drag it through the pile.
Twin 25-gallon solution and recovery tanks and a 2 HP three-stage vacuum rated at 100 CFM and 105" of water lift let one operator cover long runs of carpet between refills, and a 43" turning radius brings it around at the end of each pass.
It runs on a 75' 14/3 cord instead of batteries, so there are no batteries to charge, water or replace.

The 115 V model (C8420-115) runs on a standard grounded 15 A, 120 V, 60 Hz circuit and draws 12 A. It comes with a 75' 14/3 power cord with a GFCI and a locking plug. A 120 V auxiliary outlet on the machine powers optional hand tools.
Minuteman rates it at 79 dBA at the operator's ear and 73.6 dBA at a distance of three meters.
Yes, with optional tools: Minuteman offers a scrub wand, an upholstery tool, 15' or 25' hoses and an ET tool. Turn the master switch off, swap the machine's vacuum and solution hoses for the tool's hoses, set the pump switch to auxiliary and switch the vacuum on. The tools attach without other tools.
Lower the brush and vac shoe with the raise/lower lever, then turn the brush pressure knob while you read the gauge, keeping the needle in the green zone. Engage the traction drive and set the forward speed with the working speed dial.
Water with a liquid cleaning chemical at the correct dilution. Do not use powdered chemicals: they may not dissolve fully and can clog the inline solution filter, reducing flow to the pump and spray jets. The recovery tank empties through the dump hose.
