Spray and extract from one hand tool

Spray and extract from one hand tool

The Gotcha carries its own 2-gallon solution and recovery tanks, a 50 psi pump and a 1.12 HP two-stage vacuum rated at 71" of water lift. One hose feeds a 4" clear hand tool that sprays the stain and pulls the dirty water straight back, and its clear head lets the operator see when the spot runs clean.

At 19 lbs it rolls on two 4" wheels or hangs from its shoulder strap, so a spill in a lobby, hallway or office gets treated right away without wheeling out a full-size extractor.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

How much water do I put in the Gotcha, and how hot can it be?

The solution and recovery tanks each hold 2 gallons, but fill the solution tank with no more than 1.5 gallons of hot water, at 140°F or below. Unlatch the two latches, lift the recovery tank off, fill, then latch it back on. If you add a cleaning chemical, use one made for carpet and follow the dilution on its label.

Does the Gotcha shut off when the recovery tank is full?

No. There is no automatic liquid shut-off in the recovery tank, so do not overfill it, and empty the recovery tank completely every time you refill the solution tank. If foam or water comes out of the vents, switch the machine off, lift off the recovery tank and run the motor for 1 minute to clear the fan chamber.

What do the switch positions do?

One position runs the vacuum only, for picking up solution or a wet spill. The other runs the vacuum and the 50 psi pump together, so the hand tool sprays and extracts at the same time. The center position is off.

What outlet does it need?

A standard grounded 15 A, 115 V, 60 Hz outlet. The 25' 18-3 cord has a ground fault circuit interrupter that cuts power if it detects a fault, and it winds onto hooks on top of the machine for storage. Do not use a plug adapter.

How do I look after the pump and spray jet?

After every job, empty the solution tank and flush 1 gallon of clean water through the pump, rinse the recovery tank, and clean the vacuum inlet and the solution strainer. Once a month, purge the pump with 1 quart of white vinegar in 1.5 gallons of hot water, then rinse with 1.5 gallons of clean water. Never clear the spray jet with a pin or wire, and keep the machine from freezing.

What accessories are available for the Gotcha?

Minuteman offers an ET extraction tool, a transport cart, a chemical spotting kit and Gotcha shampoo as options. They are sold separately and not included with the machine.
