The Phenom splits the work between a 1 HP vacuum motor moving 104 CFM and a 1/4 HP brush motor spinning the roller at 5,000 RPM. The brush loosens soil from the carpet pile and the vacuum carries it into a 1-gallon bag. If the roller jams, the brush motor shuts itself off.
A knob sets brush height for light or deep cleaning, and the roller comes out without tools when it needs changing.
A 5' suction hose stretches 4:1 and pairs with a telescoping wand and on-board tools, so edges, stairs and upholstery get cleaned without a second machine. The accessories fit a 1.5" connection and travel on the vacuum between rooms.
A 50' cord with a quick-release wrap covers a wide radius from each outlet, and the Fibro filter comes standard, with HEPA exhaust filtration available as an option.

Both models ship with the Fibro filter, which carries a nano-crystal coating aimed at bacteria, viruses, fungi and mites in the exhaust air. A HEPA exhaust filter, a three-layer microfiber bag and an active carbon motor filter are available as options.
Both the Phenom 15 and Phenom 18 have a 50' cord with a quick-release cord wrap.
Yes. Stand the handle upright, pull the 5' suction hose off the machine and fit a tool; the hose stretches to about four times its length, and the telescoping wand and on-board tools stay on the vacuum.
No wet use: the Phenom is for dry carpet cleaning only, and the manual warns against wet surfaces and outdoor use. Its motor-driven brush is designed for carpet pile.
The brush motor switches off to protect itself and a warning lamp lights on the brush head. Switch the vacuum off, clear the roller of string, tape or wire, raise the brush height if it was set too low, then switch it back on.
Minuteman lists a sound pressure level of about 68 dBA.
