Every Rush puts its hose barbs, pressure gauge, drain valve and twist-lock power pigtail on the back of the machine, so the front and both sides stay free of fittings. The 12-gallon solution and 11-gallon recovery tanks are polyethylene on a ¼" aluminum baseplate, and the motors sit in a sealed cavity away from the water.
For service the body opens with two screws, and the drain valve is set high enough for a standard 5-gallon bucket to slide underneath.
The Rush is a portable box extractor: its pump sends solution up the hose to a stainless steel carpet wand, and its vacuum motors pull the dirty water back into the recovery tank with 117" to 150" of water lift, depending on the model. Large 10" rear wheels and 4" locking casters roll it into position.
Because the machine stays put while the wand travels on the hose, it suits restoration jobs and small rooms, and an upholstery tool can run from the same hose set.
Every Rush is built on the same compact body, 35" high, 31" long and 18" wide, with a waist-high handle and 10" non-marking rear wheels for rolling it to the job. It weighs 78 lbs as the R100C, 90 lbs as the R100H and 106 lbs as the R500H, and the two heated models carry their detachable heater on two brackets at the back.
One operator can wheel it from room to room and between jobs, and the stainless steel locking casters hold it in place while you clean or while it sits in storage.

All three share the 12-gallon solution tank, the 11-gallon recovery tank and the same body. The R100C is the cold-water model with dual 2-stage vacuum motors, 150" of water lift and a 100 psi pump. The R100H adds a detachable 1000 W heater and uses a single 3-stage vacuum motor with 117" of lift. The R500H pairs dual 2-stage vacuums and 150" of lift with a 500 psi pump, a 2000 W heater, 25' hoses and a dual-jet S-bend wand.
A grounded 120 V, 60 Hz outlet, reached through a detachable 50' cord that locks into a twist-lock pigtail on the machine. The manuals call for a standard 15 A circuit, but the heated models list higher draws (18.8 A on the R100H, and 17.1 A and 15.9 A on the R500H's two cords, one for the extractor and one for its heater, each on its own circuit), so check the circuit rating before plugging in. If you add an extension cord, Minuteman specifies a 12-gauge, three-wire grounded cord no longer than 25'.
Fill the solution tank with water no hotter than 130°F. On the R100H and R500H, mount the heater on its rear brackets, run the pump and spray until the flow is steady, then switch the heater on. It takes up to 3 minutes to heat, and its thermostats cycle it during the job. Never run the heater dry and keep it from freezing. The R100C has no heater.
Drain the recovery tank through the drain valve into a 5-gallon bucket, a floor drain or a toilet. After every job, pour about 2 gallons of clean hot water into the solution tank and spray it through the wand to flush chemical residue out of the pump, then wipe the machine down. Use a defoamer on carpets that were shampooed before.
Yes. The R100C and R100H come with 15' vacuum and solution hoses and a single-jet stainless steel carpet wand. The R500H comes with 25' hoses and a dual-jet S-bend stainless steel wand. An upholstery tool connects to the same hoses.
