Wall head or ceiling cassette

The same condenser runs either a DIY 5th Gen 208/230V wall air handler or an OuttaSight ceiling cassette of matching capacity, so the indoor unit can be chosen to suit the room rather than the other way round.

Order the indoor unit separately: the 12,000 BTU condenser pairs with a 12,000 BTU head and the 18,000 BTU condenser with an 18,000 BTU head.

Which indoor units work with the DIY Hyper Heat condenser?

The 12,000 BTU condenser pairs with the DIY 5th Gen 12,000 BTU 208/230V wall air handler or the 12,000 BTU OuttaSight ceiling cassette. The 18,000 BTU condenser pairs with the 18,000 BTU versions of the same two units. The indoor unit is sold separately.

Is a line set included with the Hyper Heat condenser?

Yes. MRCOOL supplies a 25' pre-charged Quick Connect line set and the DIYPro cable with the condenser. Longer routes can use a 35' or 50' line set or a coupler kit, as long as the total stays within the maximum line length in the manual.

What electrical supply does the Hyper Heat condenser need?

208/230V single phase. MRCOOL lists a 15A maximum breaker for the 12,000 BTU model and 25A for the 18,000 BTU model. Wiring must meet local code, and some areas require a permit or a licensed electrician for that part of the job.

How is it different from the standard DIY 5th Gen condenser?

The main difference is the low-temperature rating: -22°F for Hyper Heat against -13°F for the standard units. It comes only in 12,000 and 18,000 BTU sizes and only at 208/230V, while the standard line also offers 115V models and sizes up to 36,000 BTU.

Can I install the Hyper Heat system myself?

Yes. It uses the same pre-charged Quick Connect line set as the rest of the DIY 5th Gen line, so no vacuum pump or refrigerant handling is needed. Follow the torque and leak-check steps in the manual when tightening the fittings.
