Up to 20.2 SEER2 from 115V

Up to 20.2 SEER2 from 115V

The 9,000 BTU DIY Easy Pro is rated 20.2 SEER2, and the 12,000 BTU size reaches 9.3 HSPF2 (Region IV) in heating. An inverter compressor adjusts its speed to the load, and on the silent fan setting the indoor heads are rated from 17.5 to 21.5 dBA.

Both of those sizes run on a 115V circuit, which suits a bedroom or office project. The 18,000 and 24,000 BTU sizes need 208/230V.

Operates from -13°F to 122°F

Operates from -13°F to 122°F

MRCOOL rates the DIY Easy Pro to run at outdoor temperatures from -13°F up to 122°F, so one system handles summer cooling and winter heating. The outdoor coil carries the Gold Fin coating for humid or coastal air, and the indoor filters are washable.

If your winters regularly drop below that range, plan on a backup heat source or look at MRCOOL's Hyper Heat models.

Sized for garages, offices and bonus rooms

Four capacities cover areas from up to 400ft² (9,000 BTU) to up to 1,050ft² (24,000 BTU). Each kit pairs a wall air handler with a matched condenser and the pre-charged line set, so the indoor and outdoor units connect without refrigerant handling.

The coverage figures assume ideal conditions. For a garage with a poorly sealed door or a room with tall ceilings, choose the next size up.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

Can I install the MRCOOL DIY Easy Pro myself?

Yes, it is designed for homeowner installation. The 11.5' Quick Connect line set arrives charged with R-454B, so there is no vacuuming, brazing or refrigerant handling, and the manual covers mounting, the wall hole, the line connections and wiring. The electrical work must still meet local code, some areas require a permit or electrician for the circuit, and the outdoor unit power cable is purchased separately.

Do I need a 230V circuit for the DIY Easy Pro?

Only for the larger two. The 9,000 and 12,000 BTU systems run on 115V, and the 18,000 and 24,000 BTU systems need 208/230V. Each outdoor unit lists a 20A maximum breaker.

How cold can it be outside for the DIY Easy Pro to heat?

MRCOOL rates it to operate at outdoor temperatures down to -13°F and up to 122°F. In climates that regularly go colder, keep a backup heat source.

Is the 11.5' line set long enough, and can I extend it?

It suits installs where the condenser sits close to the wall behind the air handler. For a longer route MRCOOL sells pre-charged Quick Connect line sets in 16', 25', 35' and 50' lengths, and a Quick Connect coupler joins two of them. Keep the total within the maximum run in the manual, and leak-check every joint after tightening it to the torque in the manual.

Can I control the DIY Easy Pro from my phone?

Yes. The MRCOOL Comfort app adjusts temperature, changes modes, sets schedules and monitors the system remotely, and you can pair it with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The included remote also has Follow Me, which reads the temperature where you sit.
