Measure the route from the air handler, through the wall and along the house to the condenser, then choose a 16', 25', 35' or 50' set. The 35' and 50' sets include a DIYPro communication cable, the 25' set comes with or without one, and the 16' set has none.
Match the line size to the indoor unit: 1/4" x 3/8" for 6,000 to 12,000 BTU heads, 1/4" x 1/2" for 18,000 BTU heads and 3/8" x 5/8" for 24,000 and 36,000 BTU heads.

Match it to the indoor unit, not the condenser. MRCOOL specifies 1/4" x 3/8" for 6,000, 9,000 and 12,000 BTU heads, 1/4" x 1/2" for 18,000 BTU heads and 3/8" x 5/8" for 24,000 and 36,000 BTU heads. MRCOOL's 5- and 6-zone DIY condensers include the adapter set for 24,000 BTU and larger heads.
No. The set is charged with R-454B at the factory, so you tighten the Quick Connect fittings with wrenches, check them for leaks with spray or soapy water, and open the service valves. No vacuuming or refrigerant handling is involved.
Every 35' and 50' set includes a DIYPro communication cable. The 25' set is offered both with and without the cable, and the 16' set has none, so pick a cable version if the cable that came with your unit will not reach. The coupler kits on this store include 75' of DIYPro cable for an extended run.
MRCOOL DIY coupler kits are made for the 1/4" x 1/2" and 3/8" x 5/8" line sizes, so those runs can be joined with the matching kit. MRCOOL does not list a coupler for the 1/4" x 3/8" sets, so choose a single set long enough for that run. Keep the total within the maximum line length in your unit's installation manual.
Plan the route before you tighten anything. MRCOOL's manual warns that fittings tightened with too much or too little torque will leak, so a joint you have to remake carries the same risk: leak-test any fitting you redo, and never exceed the torque in the manual.
No. DIY line sets are intended for MRCOOL DIY single-zone and multi-zone units. MRCOOL's central ducted systems use the separate No-Vac Quick Connect line sets.
