The MRCOOL flare-to-weld fitting turns a flare connection into a brazed one. A brass flare nut threads onto the air handler connection, and a copper stub on the other end is brazed into the line set. It comes in 3/8" for the liquid line and 3/4" for the suction line.
It lets an installer braze a field line set to an air handler with flare ports. Installation is by a licensed HVAC contractor. This is MRCOOL's flare-to-weld fitting.

Installation
Professional installation required. This equipment must be installed by a licensed HVAC contractor (EPA Section 608-certified for any refrigerant work), following MRCOOL's installation manual and all local codes, permits and licensing rules. MRCOOL's limited warranty applies only to units installed that way, and it does not cover installation labor.
Braze the copper stub to the field line with a nitrogen purge, let it cool, then tighten the flare nut onto the air handler connection to the torque in the air handler manual. Pressure test and evacuate the system before releasing refrigerant.

About MRCOOL
MRCOOL designs heating, cooling and water-heating equipment from its home base in Hickory, Kentucky. The range runs from DIY ductless mini-splits, built around MRCOOL's patented pre-charged Quick Connect line sets, through contractor-installed mini-splits, central split systems, packaged units and gas furnaces, to HeatWise water heaters and CoolBlade HVLS fans for warehouses and shops.
MRCOOL's flare-to-weld fittings are listed by MRCOOL for air handler connections, the 3/8" and 3/4" sizes matching the 3/8" liquid and 3/4" suction lines used on MRCOOL's central split systems. A copper stub is brazed into the line set on one end, and a flare nut connects to the air handler on the other.
