Which MHK strip fits my MRCOOL unit?

Match the letter to the equipment. MHK...H strips are MRCOOL's Signature Series strips for MAHM split air handlers. MHK...P strips are for Signature Series package units. MHK...U strips are for Universal Series MDUI air handlers: 5kW and 8kW on the MDUI18024 and MDUI18036, 10kW on the MDUI18036, and 15kW or 20kW on the MDUI18048 and MDUI18060. The three lines are not interchangeable.

Will these fit a new MRCOOL air handler or packaged unit?

No. They are for existing MRCOOL equipment of the series named above. Current Signature Series air handlers take the MCAEHFD and MCAEHWD kits, current Universal UAH18 air handlers take the UHK kits, and VersaPro packaged units take the MHK...PB kits, all listed separately.

What breaker size does each strip need?

MRCOOL lists the maximum fuse or breaker at 208/230V. H strips: 30A (5kW), 45A (7.5kW), 60A (10kW), 60A plus 30A (15kW), 60A plus 60A (20kW). P strips: 30A, 50A, 60A, then 60A plus 30A and 60A plus 60A. U strips: 30A, 45A (8kW), 60A, then 60A plus 30A and 60A plus 60A. The two largest sizes need two supply circuits.

Why does one photo cover every size?

MRCOOL publishes a single frame set for each strip line, not one per size. Larger strips carry more element coils, so the kit in your box can look fuller than the photo. The model number on the variant is what matters for fit.

Can I install a heat strip myself?

No. These strips carry line-voltage heating loads. MRCOOL's MHK...U manual says all wiring must be done by a qualified electrician, and every strip here should be installed by a licensed electrician or HVAC contractor to local code.
