The MRCOOL Signature Series electric heat kit slides into a Signature Series R-454B air handler and adds resistance heat for cold snaps and emergency heat. These MCAEHFD kits come in 5kW, 7.5kW and 10kW for the multi-position air handlers, and each carries a 60A breaker as a service disconnect.
It gives a Signature Series heat pump backup heat for the coldest days. Installation is by a licensed electrician or HVAC contractor. This is the Signature Series R-454B heat kit.

Three Output Sizes
5kW, 7.5kW and 10kW elements, rated at 240V on a single-phase supply.
Service Disconnect Built In
Each kit carries a 60A breaker that isolates the heater for service personnel.
Plugs Into the Control Board
A plug group connects the kit to the air handler board: 2 pins for kits of 10kW and under.
Slide-In Assembly
The element assembly slides through the access opening and seats on a support rod at the back of the discharge opening.
Thermostat-Called Heat
The elements energize when the thermostat calls for heat.

Installation
Professional installation required. This equipment must be installed by a qualified, licensed electrician or contractor, following MRCOOL's installation manual and all local electrical and building codes and permit requirements. MRCOOL's limited warranty applies only to units installed that way, and it does not cover installation labor.
Multi-position (MCAEHFD): 5kW and 7.5kW on the 18K air handler, 5kW to 10kW on the 24K to 60K units. Supply is single phase, 208/230V. Size the branch circuit from the air handler nameplate and the kit tables in the manual. In a garage, keep the elements at least 18" above the floor.

Inspect the packaging and the product before you sign. Note any damage or shortage on the delivery receipt, then email photos to support@mycleansupplies.com within 48 hours of delivery so the freight claim can be filed. Damage reported after 48 hours can't be claimed.
MRCOOL handles returns through the store you bought from, so your return comes to us. Unopened, unused MRCOOL equipment can be returned within 21 days of delivery with a return authorization from us. You pay the return shipping, and a restocking fee of up to 20% may be deducted along with payment processing fees. Opened, installed or used equipment and special-order items can't be returned.
MRCOOL's heat kit manuals do not state warranty terms, and MRCOOL's Signature Series warranty document lists only the condensers, air handlers and coils, so confirm coverage with MRCOOL before ordering.
Warranty claims. MRCOOL handles warranty claims directly through support.mrcool.com or (270) 366-0457. Some MRCOOL warranties cover the original purchaser only. Systems that aren't DIY need a valid installation invoice to open a claim.
