The Nantucket Sinks Hyannis-18 is a 17.5" round fireclay bar and prep sink in polished, high gloss white. It is a fresh focal point and a natural partner if you already have a farmhouse sink: set into an island or a bar, it adds a second place to rinse produce or glasses without crossing the kitchen.
The round bowl is 15" across and 6.75" deep inside a 17.5" diameter sink that stands 7.75" high, enough room to rinse fruit and vegetables, fill a pitcher or wash bar glasses. It takes a standard 3.5" kitchen drain at the center, though its thick fireclay bottom calls for an extended flange or extension ferrule; the drain is not included.
Crafted in the artisanal traditions of Europe from solid, heavy duty fireclay, it has a durable fired glaze that is easy to clean and eco-friendly. Each piece is unique, so dimensions can vary by about 1/4". Designed to be undermounted or topmounted, it fits a stone island top or a drop-in cutout equally well.

Fit, Mounting and Plumbing
Because it is a dual-mount fireclay sink rather than an apron front, it can sit on a standard cabinet: it needs a base cabinet sized from the actual sink, a 2x4 support frame inside to carry its weight (28 lbs), and room behind it for the faucet (it has no faucet holes, so the faucet goes on the countertop or the wall). The drain opening takes a standard kitchen drain, and because of the thick fireclay bottom, an extended flange or extension ferrule is required for the drain. Nantucket's undermount installation guide calls for professional installation and asks that the fabricator be given the guide; the countertop opening is set flush with the sink or with an overhang, typically 1/8" to 1/4", and a 1/4" overhang hides the silicone line.
Caring for Fireclay
Fireclay is fired at high temperature under a glaze that lets food stains wipe away and will not rust. Day to day it needs only a mild cleaner and a soft cloth; Nantucket suggests baking soda for stuck-on food, Soft Scrub or a Scotch-Brite sponge for a rare mark, and a little carnauba wax now and then. Nantucket's fireclay care guide calls the material easy and low maintenance, and in hard water areas a quick dry with a cloth prevents spotting.

Installation & Care
Installation
This round sink can be undermounted below a solid countertop or topmounted as a drop-in. The installer supports it from below, takes the cutout from the actual sink because dimensions vary by about 1/4", and leaves room behind it for the faucet, since there are no faucet holes. The 3.5" center drain opening takes a standard kitchen drain (not included); because of the thick bottom an extended flange or extension ferrule is required, and the drain should be tightened by hand so it is never over-tightened. The sink weighs 28 lbs. Professional installation is required.
Care
Clean the fireclay regularly with a mild cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge, then rinse; in hard water areas, dry it with a cloth to prevent spotting. Soak stuck-on food to loosen it, using baking soda if needed, and lift a rare surface stain with Soft Scrub or a Scotch-Brite sponge. An occasional coat of carnauba wax adds protection and helps water run off. Fireclay contains no metal, so it will not rust. Fireclay is stain resistant and low maintenance, and the drain should never be over-tightened.

Nantucket Sinks ships this item by UPS or FedEx from North Kingstown, Rhode Island, usually within 1 to 2 business days of your order. Shipping is free within the lower 48 states on orders of $101 or more (orders under $101 ship for a flat $15); for Alaska or Hawaii, contact us before you order. You'll get tracking by email as soon as it ships.
Inspect the packaging and the product before you sign. Note any damage or shortage on the delivery receipt, then email photos to support@mycleansupplies.com within 48 hours of delivery so the freight claim can be filed. Damage reported after 48 hours can't be claimed.
Unused Nantucket Sinks products in their original packaging can be returned within 21 days of delivery. Ask us for a return authorization before you ship. Returns carry Nantucket Sinks' 25% restocking fee, you pay the return shipping, and the return travels at your risk, so pack it as it arrived. Payment processing fees are not refunded. Installed, used or damaged products, and discontinued models, can't be returned.
Nantucket Sinks backs its fireclay sinks with a 5-year limited warranty: it replaces, at its option, any sink found to have a material defect, and replacement sinks are offered at 50% of the original purchase price. Glaze damage from improper or caustic cleansers, cracks from impact, a farm sink forced into its cutout, and cracks from an over-tightened drain are not covered. The warranty covers residential installations for the original purchaser; installation, labor and transportation costs, and damage from installation, improper cleaning, misuse or neglect, are not covered.
