The Nantucket Sinks APRON332010-16 is a 33" Pro Series farmhouse sink with square, zero radius corners: a single 30.875" x 17.875" bowl, 10" deep, behind a flat stainless apron front. It is for a family kitchen that wants one large, uninterrupted basin for pots, sheet pans and roasting pans, with the clean geometry of a commercial sink. A BGAPRON bottom grid and the NS35CD colander drain are included.
Its 90 degree corners are the difference from the small radius aprons in the range: the walls meet the floor square, which Nantucket notes gives additional space in the bowl and a fresh, modern industrial look inside a farmhouse sink. The basin has channel grooves in the bottom that divert water to the rear drain, so the middle of the bowl stays clear for stacked dishes and large cookware.
Nantucket fabricates the sink from premium 16-gauge T-304 stainless steel for durability and says its Pro Series sinks are at home in both traditional and modern kitchens. Thick rubber dampening pads quiet running water and dropped utensils, and the underside is sprayed with insulation to reduce condensation inside the cabinet. Nantucket's finishing process helps keep the steel corrosion resistant to rust and oxidation, and the brushed satin finish keeps daily maintenance to a simple rinse. The exposed stainless apron carries the farmhouse look in steel, which suits modern and transitional kitchens alike.
Fitting the APRON332010-16 in Your Kitchen
Plan the cabinet first. The APRON332010-16 measures 33" x 21.5" at corners, 33" x 22.25" at center overall. It needs an apron-front base cabinet with a 2x4 support frame built inside; Nantucket's apron guide rates that frame for up to 300 lbs once installed and has the installer take the cutout from the actual sink, since dimensions are nominal and no template is included. There are no faucet holes in the sink, so the faucet is planned separately, either through the countertop or on the wall. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation. The Apron installation guide in Resources covers the cutout and mounting.
Pro Series Sizes and Accessories
The APRON332010-16 is part of Nantucket's Pro Series, which Nantucket created following the trend for industrial style kitchens in the home, with small radius (SR) or zero radius (ZR) corners on every model and a range that runs from bar and prep bowls to large, deep single bowls. Apron front options include the 24" APRON2420-SR-16, 30" APRON302010-SR-16 and 33" APRON332210-SR-16, the square-cornered APRON332010-16, the APRON332210-DBL-SR double bowl, the patented EZApron30 and EZApron33 models for standard cabinets, and the AP-PS-3221-16 prep station apron. Nantucket offers accessories to complete its Pro Series sinks, and the optional pieces listed for the APRON332010-16 are the NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain and 3.5EDF-BRS extended drain flange.
In short, the Nantucket Sinks APRON332010-16 is a 33" stainless steel farmhouse sink that offers a square-cornered single basin behind a flat stainless apron.
Nearly 31" Single Basin
The 30.875" x 17.875" bowl has no divider, so the largest cookware can be washed flat instead of tilted, and a full dinner's dishes fit below the rim.
BGAPRON Grid and Colander Drain
The included BGAPRON bottom grid, 30.5" x 17.75" x 1", covers almost the whole floor to protect it from scratches, and the NS35CD colander drain catches scraps at the 3.5" opening.
90 Degree Corners
Zero radius 90 degree corners square off the bowl, which Nantucket notes adds usable space at the base of the walls and gives the sink its modern industrial look.
Channel-Grooved Floor
Grooves pressed into the bottom of the sink divert water to the drain, for proper drainage, as Nantucket describes it, so rinse water is directed to the opening.
Premium 16-Gauge T-304 Steel
The sink is fabricated from 16-gauge T-304 stainless steel, a premium gauge Nantucket chose for maximum durability in a sink that works every day.
Quieter, Drier Cabinet
Thick rubber dampening pads cut the hollow ring of running water and clattering dishes, and a sprayed insulation layer reduces the condensation that can drip onto items stored in the cabinet.
Easy-Care Brushed Satin
Nantucket says the brushed satin finish makes daily maintenance a simple rinse; the even grain gives a low-glare look, and a towel dry keeps water spots off.
Sold separately: NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain, 3.5EDF-BRS extended drain flange.
Installation
This is an undermount farmhouse sink that needs a custom apron-front base cabinet; it cannot go into a standard sink base without major modification. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation. The installer builds a 2x4 support frame inside the cabinet, strong enough to hold up to 300 lbs once installed, set so the sink rim sits level and flush with the cabinet top, with room left for the drain, supply lines and a disposal. The countertop is then cut flush or with a 1/4" overhang. No template is included: the cutout is taken from the sink itself, and dimensions are nominal, so measure the actual sink before the cabinet is built. The sink has no faucet holes (the faucet mounts on the countertop or wall) and needs a standard 3.5" drain at the rear. The Apron installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Clean the sink often rather than saving it for a heavy scrub: a soft non-abrasive cloth and a mild cleaner, wiped with the direction of the grain, then a towel dry after use to keep it shiny and free of water spots. For tougher stains use a mild abrasive such as Bar Keepers Friend, and remove mineral deposits with vinegar and water. Never use steel wool or bleach, do not leave cleaners in the bowl overnight or wet sponges and soap bars on the steel, wipe up salt, vinegar, citrus and other acidic foods promptly, and do not leave steel or cast iron cookware sitting in the sink.
