The Nantucket Sinks AW-PS-3219-16 is a 32" All Weather prep station sink in 316 marine-grade stainless steel, made for outdoor kitchens: a single 30" x 16" undermount bowl with a ledge that holds the included HDPE cutting board. It suits a backyard grill island, a pool house or a patio bar where an ordinary sink would be exposed to the weather, and it fits a 33" sink base.
All Weather (AW) sinks are constructed from 316 marine-grade stainless steel, which makes them highly resistant to corrosion and suited to outdoor use. Whether it is installed in a backyard kitchen, a grill station or a patio bar, Nantucket builds this sink to handle the elements year round, so you can prep and clean up where you cook instead of carrying everything indoors.
The bowl walls carry a ledge for the included CB-SR44 HDPE cutting board, which Nantucket's spec sheet sizes at 16.75" x 11.75": set it over the sink for added prep space, trim meat or vegetables, and rinse straight into the bowl. Small radius corners make the basin easy to clean, the stainless bottom grid protects the floor, the drain sits at the rear, and the 16-gauge steel is undercoated to reduce condensation and padded with rubber to reduce noise.
Fitting the AW-PS-3219-16 in Your Kitchen
Sizing is straightforward. The AW-PS-3219-16 measures 32" x 19" x 10" overall. As an undermount sink it is installed beneath a solid surface countertop such as granite or quartz, and the fabricator can finish the edge flush with the bowl or with the 1/4" overhang Nantucket recommends. There are no faucet holes in the sink, so the faucet is planned separately, either through the countertop or on the wall. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation. The Undermount installation guide in Resources covers the cutout and mounting.
The All-Weather Outdoor Range
The AW-PS-3219-16 is part of the All-Weather Collection, which Nantucket created following the desire to move living spaces outdoors. Nantucket offers matching accessories, and the optional pieces listed for the AW-PS-3219-16 are the NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain.
Caring for the Stainless Steel
Nantucket's care guide for its stainless sinks favors light, frequent cleaning over an occasional heavy scrub: wipe with a soft cloth and a mild cleaner in the direction of the grain, towel dry after use to keep the steel shiny and free of water spots, and lift mineral deposits with vinegar and water. For tougher stains it suggests a mild abrasive such as Bar Keepers Friend, and it asks you to avoid steel wool and bleach, to wipe up salt, vinegar, citrus and other acidic foods promptly, and not to leave steel or cast iron cookware, wet sponges or soap bars sitting in the sink.
In short, the Nantucket Sinks AW-PS-3219-16 is a 32" outdoor workstation sink that brings a 316 marine-grade workstation sink with an HDPE board to an outdoor kitchen.
32" Outdoor Workstation
At 32" x 19" x 10" overall with a 30" x 16" bowl, it fits a 33" outdoor sink base and gives room to rinse grill grates and platters.
Board, Grid and Drain Included
A basket strainer drain, the bottom grid and the CB-SR44 cutting board ship with the sink, so the outdoor kitchen is equipped as soon as it is plumbed.
316 Marine-Grade Stainless
316 stainless steel is the marine grade Nantucket uses for its All Weather line because it is highly resistant to corrosion, which is what an outdoor sink exposed to rain, sun and humidity needs.
HDPE Board on the Ledge
The included CB-SR44 HDPE cutting board sits on the sink ledge for extra prep space at the grill, and HDPE is a plastic that shrugs off moisture outdoors.
Thick 16-Gauge 304 Steel
The sink is fabricated from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel, the premium gauge Nantucket uses across its Pro Series sinks, here in a brushed satin finish.
Grid Protects the Basin
The stainless bottom grid lifts grill racks and pans off the bowl floor, protecting the finish from scratches and letting water drain beneath them.
Undercoated and Padded
An undercoating reduces condensation inside the outdoor cabinet, and rubber padding cuts the noise of running water and dropped tongs.
Small Radius Corners
Small radius corners keep the crisp lines of a professional sink but leave a slight curve at the base that a sponge can follow, which Nantucket notes makes cleaning easier.
Sold separately: NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain.
Installation
This is an undermount sink: it hangs beneath a solid surface countertop such as granite or quartz, which Nantucket specifies for its undermount stainless sinks, and it fits a 33" minimum sink base cabinet. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation; give the countertop fabricator the installation guide and follow local building and plumbing codes. The guide has the fabricator mark the cutout from a template, cut on the inside of the line, and finish the counter flush with the bowl or overhanging it by 1/8" to 1/4"; Nantucket recommends a 1/4" overhang, which gives a clean edge and hides the silicone. Clips are spaced evenly around the sink, set loosely, adjusted, then tightened. Silicone sealant is not included. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop, and the sink needs a standard 3.5" drain at the rear. The Undermount installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Clean the sink often rather than saving it for a heavy scrub: a soft non-abrasive cloth and a mild cleaner, wiped with the direction of the grain, then a towel dry after use to keep it shiny and free of water spots. For tougher stains use a mild abrasive such as Bar Keepers Friend, and remove mineral deposits with vinegar and water. Never use steel wool or bleach, do not leave cleaners in the bowl overnight or wet sponges and soap bars on the steel, wipe up salt, vinegar, citrus and other acidic foods promptly, and do not leave steel or cast iron cookware sitting in the sink. For the included cutting board: hand wash it with soapy water right after use, rinse and dry it, and do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher, where high heat can warp it.
