The Nantucket Sinks Fireclay Farmhouse Kitchen Sink with Grid and Drain comes in 3 versions: 23.25", 27" or 30" size and White or Coffee Brown color. Pick your options above to open the exact model, with its own price and details. The details below are for the 23.25", White version.
The Nantucket Sinks P-FCS23 is a petite 23.25" white fireclay farmhouse sink that ships with a bottom grid and a coordinating stainless steel basket strainer drain. It is sized for a smaller kitchen, a second prep sink or a laundry room, so you get the look of a full farmhouse apron where a 30" sink would not fit, ready to use once installed.
The 21.625" x 16.1875" basin is 9" deep and the apron is a full 10" tall, with an elegant 1/4" taper from top to bottom. The 3.5" drain opening sits at the center of the bowl and can be used with a disposer drain, as long as the drain is not over-tightened.
It is made from European fireclay with a porcelain enamel glaze that Nantucket says provides long lasting durability, and the sink is fired in a kiln for 15 hours so the glaze stays scratch resistant through daily use. Fireclay will not rust and lets food stains wipe away. Because firing shrinks the clay, dimensions are nominal and can vary by about 1/4", so the custom base is built to the sink.
Planning the Cabinet and Plumbing
Planning the cabinet comes first with any fireclay farmhouse sink. This one needs a custom base required, and because it weighs 68 lbs, the cabinet is fitted with an internal support frame to carry it. It has no faucet holes, so the faucet goes on the countertop or the wall. The drain opening is center-set, and the drain is included. Measure the actual sink before the cabinet is built, so the opening fits the piece you receive. The accessories Nantucket lists for it, all sold separately, are the 3.5EDF-BRS extended drain flange in brushed stainless, the 3.5EDF-ORB extended drain flange in oil rubbed bronze.
Living With Fireclay
Living with fireclay is simple. The glazed surface lets food stains wipe away, contains no metal so it will not rust, and needs only a mild cleaner and a soft cloth day to day; Nantucket suggests baking soda for stuck-on food, Soft Scrub or a Scotch-Brite sponge for a rare surface mark, and an occasional coat of carnauba wax to help water run off. Nantucket's fireclay care guide calls the material easy and low maintenance, and in hard water areas a quick dry with a cloth prevents spotting.
For a kitchen built around a statement apron front sink, the Nantucket Sinks P-FCS23 pairs a 23.25" fireclay farmhouse design with the easy care of glazed fireclay, a farmhouse kitchen sink meant to be used hard every day and still look like the centerpiece of the room.
Features
Compact 23.25" Size
At 23.25" x 18" with a 21.625" x 16.1875" bowl, it brings a farmhouse apron to a small kitchen or a laundry room without crowding the cabinet run.
Grid and Drain Included
A bottom grid and a coordinating stainless steel basket strainer drain ship with the sink, so there is nothing extra to buy before it goes into service.
Full 10" Apron
The apron stands 10" tall, the same face height as a full-size farmhouse sink, with a 1/4" taper from top to bottom for a softer profile.
Disposer Ready
The center 3.5" opening can be used with a disposer drain; hand-tighten the drain so it does not crack the fireclay.
Kiln-Fired Glaze
Fired for 15 hours, the porcelain enamel glaze is durable and scratch resistant for years of daily use and wipes clean with a mild cleaner.
Rust-Proof White Fireclay
Fireclay contains no metal, so the white sink will not rust, and food stains wipe away rather than soaking in.

Installation & Care
Installation
This undermount farmhouse sink needs a custom or apron-front base cabinet (a custom base is required), with a 2x4 support frame or cradle inside that holds it level and flush with the cabinet top; Nantucket's apron guide calls for a frame strong enough for up to 300 lbs, and the sink alone weighs 68 lbs. No template is included: the cabinet opening and countertop cutout are measured from the actual sink, set flush or with a 1/4" overhang, because fired fireclay dimensions are nominal. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the counter or wall. It has a 3.5" drain opening at the center of the bowl, and the included basket strainer drain fits it, and the drain should be tightened by hand so it is never over-tightened. Professional installation is required. The Apron installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Clean the fireclay regularly with a mild cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge, then rinse; in hard water areas, dry it with a cloth to prevent spotting. Soak stuck-on food to loosen it, using baking soda if needed, and lift a rare surface stain with Soft Scrub or a Scotch-Brite sponge. An occasional coat of carnauba wax adds protection and helps water run off. Fireclay contains no metal, so it will not rust. Fireclay is stain resistant and low maintenance, and the drain should never be over-tightened.
