The Nantucket Sinks NS-GSEZA32S is a 30.75" single bowl Glacierstone EZApron retrofit farmhouse kitchen sink in white. Nantucket's patented design fits over a standard base cabinet, so you get the look of an apron-front sink without replacing the cabinet, and the large single bowl is roomy and easy to maintain in a modern solid material.
The bowl is 29.5" x 16" and 8.75" deep, roomy enough for roasting pans and big pots, and a bottom grid and the colander drain come with the sink, so it is ready to use once it is plumbed. Nantucket says the colander drain, with its own colander basket, collects more food scraps than a typical basket strainer.
Glacierstone is solid throughout, so any scrapes or scratches can be buffed out, which Nantucket's spec sheet describes with a buffing kit. The material is heat resistant to 500°F, sound absorbing for a quiet kitchen and stain resistant, with a glossy apron front and a matte interior. Overall the sink is 30.75" x 20.5" x 9.375" with a 6" tall apron and weighs 60 lbs; the NS-GSEZA32D is the double bowl version.
Before you order, check the cabinet. The EZApron is designed for framed cabinets, and the distance from the top of the cabinet to the top of the door must be greater than 6". Installation means cutting the cabinet fascia, so it is a job for a professional, but it saves replacing the base cabinet with a custom apron unit. It needs a 33" minimum base.
Installing the NS-GSEZA32S
The installer removes the false drawer fronts, trims the front fascia so the apron top sits flush with the cabinet wall, levels the sink and adds 2x4 side supports, with the trimmed fascia supporting the apron front. The bottom grid and colander drain come in the box, and Nantucket lists the NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain as an alternative. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop or the wall.
Glacierstone is named for its bright white appearance. Nantucket forms these sinks from a high tech composite with solid color throughout, and it points out the practical difference: unlike a surface glaze, which would need reglazing if chipped, Glacierstone can be sanded and buffed back to a smooth surface. The collection covers the NS-GSTR24 and NS-GSTR36 bathroom troughs and the NS-GSEZA32S single and NS-GSEZA32D double EZApron kitchen sinks.
Caring for Glacierstone
Care for the NS-GSEZA32S is simple because the material is solid through. Nantucket's Glacierstone care guide suggests wiping it down with a gentle liquid household cleaner, buffing stubborn stains or light scratches with a Scotch-Brite pad and a powder cleanser in a circular motion, and sanding deeper marks with 100 to 150 grit before finishing with a fine grit. Drain cleaners should be rinsed through the outlet rather than left to sit, and the guide says the material is unlikely to mark below 360°F.
The NS-GSEZA32S is the Nantucket Sinks 30.75" Glacierstone farmhouse sink for a kitchen that wants an apron front without a new cabinet, in a solid surface that can be buffed back to smooth.
Retrofits a Standard Base
Nantucket's patented EZApron design fits over a standard framed base cabinet, so you can add a farmhouse apron without buying a custom apron cabinet.
Colander Drain Included
The included colander drain has its own colander basket, which Nantucket says collects more food scraps than a typical basket strainer.
Buff Out Scratches
Glacierstone is solid throughout, so scrapes and scratches can be buffed out of the surface rather than living with them for the life of the sink.
Heat Rated to 500°F
Nantucket rates the material heat resistant to 500°F, though its care guide still advises against resting pans straight from the stove on the sink.
Glossy Apron, Matte Bowl
The apron front is glossy for a classic farmhouse look while the inside is matte, and the material absorbs sound for a quieter kitchen.
Made for Framed Cabinets
The EZApron is designed for framed cabinets where the distance from the cabinet top to the cabinet door is greater than 6", so check that clearance before you order.
Sold separately: NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain (optional alternative drain).
Installation
This is an EZApron retrofit farmhouse sink: Nantucket's patented design fits over a standard base cabinet instead of needing a custom apron cabinet, and a 33" standard base can be used with modification. It is designed for framed cabinets, and the distance from the cabinet top to the cabinet door must be greater than 6". Proper installation requires cutting the cabinet fascia and building supports: following the Glacierstone EZApron guide, the installer removes the false drawer fronts, trims the front fascia so the top of the apron sits flush with the cabinet wall, levels the sink and adds 2x4 side supports, with the trimmed fascia supporting the apron front. No template is included. Nantucket recommends professional installation. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop or wall. The 3.5" center drain opening takes the included colander drain. The Glacierstone EZApron installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Wipe the sink down with a gentle liquid household cleaner. Glacierstone is solid through, so scratches and stubborn stains can be buffed out without damaging the finish, using the buffing kit Nantucket's care guide and spec sheet describe as supplied with the sink, or a 3M Scotch-Brite pad with a powder cleanser such as Comet or Ajax worked in a circular motion. Deeper scratches or small chips can be sanded with 100 to 150 grit and finished with a fine grit and a Scotch-Brite pad. Rinse drain cleaners through the outlet rather than letting them sit. Nantucket says the material is unlikely to mark below 360°F, but do not rest pans straight from the stove on it.
