The Nantucket Sinks PR3018-BL is a 30" single bowl undermount granite composite kitchen sink in black with metallic flecks, from the Italian-made Plymouth Collection. Its 27.1875" x 15.75" basin has no divider, so roasting pans, sheet trays and stockpots lie flat, and it is sized for a 33" base cabinet: a practical choice for a busy family kitchen that wants one large bowl in stone rather than steel.
The bowl is 7.875" deep, and the 3.5" drain sits at the rear rather than in the middle. That keeps the drain clear of whatever is stacked in the basin and moves the plumbing toward the back wall, which Nantucket notes frees up more space under the counter for storage. Because the sink mounts below the countertop, there is no rim to catch crumbs: you wipe straight from the counter into the bowl.
Like every Plymouth sink, it is designed and made in Italy from a granite composite of 80% natural stone and 20% acrylic polymers. Nantucket rates the material resistant to stains and scratches, with a nonporous surface, able to withstand thermal shock and heat resistant to 560°F, and the stone is naturally sound absorbing, which keeps the clatter of dishes and running water down. Its care guide still asks for a trivet under any pan hotter than 500°F, since a pan straight off a burner can exceed 1000°F.
The sink is 30" x 17.75" overall. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop, and the optional BG-PR3018 stainless bottom grid is made for this bowl. The PR3020-DM dual-mount model shares the same basin with a faucet deck, and the 24" PR2418 has the same bowl depth for a smaller kitchen.
Installing the PR3018
Nantucket's undermount guide asks the fabricator to follow it and local building and plumbing codes, to space the clips evenly around the sink, loosely tighten, adjust and then tighten them, and to cut the counter flush or with a 1/8" to 1/4" overhang; a 1/4" overhang is recommended because it hides the silicone, which is not included. The undermount clips come in the box. For the drain, Nantucket lists the NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain in brushed stainless or chrome and the NS35L-EXT basket strainer, plus the 3.5EDF-BRS and 3.5EDF-ORB extended flanges, and the sheet asks that the drain be tightened by hand so it is not overtightened and does not crack the sink.
Nantucket introduces the Plymouth Collection as a new series of granite composite sinks, likening it to a new arrival on a rocky shore from the old world. Every model is crafted in Italy from 80% natural stone in neutral tones, white, black, titanium, brown, truffle and sand across the range, and the line runs from compact bar and prep bowls through large single bowls to low divide double bowls and workstation models with fitted accessories, so a main kitchen sink and a second prep sink can share one material and one color.
Caring for Granite Composite
Day to day, the PR3018 sink asks for little: clean it after use with warm water, a liquid detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe tea, coffee and juice up promptly so they do not set. Nantucket's care guide asks you not to cut directly on the surface, to skip harsh abrasives and metal pads, and to keep alcohol, gasoline, acids and solvents away from the stone. In hard water areas, lime build-up comes off by covering the bottom of the bowl with vinegar and water for several hours, then scrubbing with the stiff side of a sponge and rinsing.
For a busy kitchen that wants one open basin in black, the PR3018-BL is the Nantucket Sinks 30" granite composite kitchen sink to choose: room for big cookware, a rear drain that frees cabinet space, and Italian stone made to handle heat and thermal shock.
Black With Metallic Flecks
The PR3018-BL is cast in classic black with metallic flecks spread through its matte surface, which Nantucket calls an eye-catching statement color. The flecking gives the dark stone visible depth instead of a flat, painted look.
Matching Black Plymouth Pieces
Black is also offered in the PR1716-BL bar sink, the 24" PR2418-BL, the 33" PR3320-BL-UM and the PR6040-BL double bowl, so a main sink and a bar, prep or second sink can share one stone and one color across the home.
Rear Drain Frees Cabinet Space
The 3.5" drain sits at the rear of the bowl, so the drain plumbing runs closer to the wall. Nantucket notes this leaves more under-counter space for storage.
80% Natural Stone Composite
Made in Italy from 80% natural stone and 20% acrylic polymers, the composite resists stains and scratches from everyday pots, pans and utensils, with a nonporous surface, so the matte finish keeps its look with normal care.
Heat and Thermal Shock Rated
Nantucket says the material can withstand thermal shocks and temperatures up to 560°F. Its care guide still asks for a trivet under any pan hotter than 500°F and advises avoiding very hot and very cold together.
Naturally Quieter Stone
Stone is naturally sound absorbing, so running water and clattering dishes are muffled, which Nantucket notes makes for a quieter kitchen. That matters most in an open-plan room where the sink faces the living space.
Clean Undermount Edge
Mounted beneath the countertop with the included clips, the sink leaves an uninterrupted counter edge, so crumbs and spills sweep straight into the bowl with no raised rim in the way.
Sold separately: BG-PR3018 stainless bottom grid, 3.5" drain (NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain in brushed stainless, NS35LCC-CH in chrome, or NS35L-EXT basket strainer), 3.5EDF-BRS or 3.5EDF-ORB extended flange.
Installation
This is an undermount sink that mounts beneath the countertop. Undermount clips are included; they are spaced evenly around the sink, set loosely, adjusted, then tightened. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation, and its undermount guide asks the installer to follow local building and plumbing codes. The counter can be cut flush with the bowl or with a 1/8" to 1/4" overhang; a 1/4" overhang is recommended because it hides the silicone, which is not included. It needs a 33" minimum base cabinet. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop. The 3.5" rear drain opening takes a standard 3.5" drain, sold separately; tighten the drain by hand, since overtightening can crack the sink. The Undermount installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Clean the sink after each use with warm water, a liquid detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe up tea, coffee and juice promptly. Nantucket's care guide says not to set anything hotter than 500°F on the sink (a pan straight off a burner can exceed 1000°F), so use a trivet or potholder, and avoid thermal shock from very hot and very cold together. Do not cut on the surface, and keep harsh abrasives, metal pads, alcohol, gasoline, acids and solvents off it. For lime build-up, cover the bottom with vinegar and water for several hours, then scrub with the stiff side of a sponge and rinse.
