The Nantucket Sinks PR3020-APS-TI is a 30" class reversible granite composite farmhouse apron workstation sink in titanium with metallic flecks, from the European-made Rockport Collection. Nantucket designed it for maximum function: a built-in ledge carries the included wood cutting board and stainless steel roll-up mat right over the 27" x 17" basin, and either of two apron corner styles can face the room, for a farmhouse kitchen with a 33" apron base.
Working at the sink changes when the board sits over the bowl. Chop on the wood board, push trimmings straight into the drain, then roll the stainless mat across the opening to dry washed produce or dishes. The basin is 9" deep and sloped to a center drain, and the sink ships with a color-coordinated basket strainer and a decorative trim ring that dresses an existing disposal flange, so the drain blends into the stone.
Rockport sinks are made in Europe from a granite composite of 80% natural stone. Nantucket rates the material resistant to stains and scratches, with a nonporous surface, able to withstand thermal shock and heat resistant to 560°F, and the stone is naturally sound absorbing, so the sink stays quieter under running water. Its care guide still asks for a trivet under any pan hotter than 500°F, because a pan straight off a burner can exceed 1000°F.
The design is reversible: one side of the apron has a softer corner radius, the other a crisper one, so you can display a more traditional or a more modern front. The outer edges taper inward toward 1/4" by design, and the base is wider than the top edge. Overall the sink is 29.75" x 19.75" x 9.75" and weighs 81 lbs, and the PR3320-APS is the 33" version for a 36" base.
Installing the PR3020-APS
As an apron front sink, the PR3020-APS needs an apron-front or custom base cabinet, and Nantucket's apron guide calls for a 2x4 support frame inside it, strong enough to hold up to 300 lbs once installed, set so the rim is level and flush with the cabinet top, with room left for the drain, supply lines and a disposal. No template is included: the cutout comes from the sink itself, and the counter can be cut flush or with a 1/4" overhang. The included basket strainer should be tightened by hand, and the DeluxeColander-PR17 stainless colander is offered separately for the ledge. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop or the wall.
The Rockport Collection takes its name from a charming seaside village with a rugged coastline that inspired many painters, and Nantucket says the granite composite sinks are inspired by both beauty and durability. They are crafted in Europe with natural stone and come in several colors and configurations: the reversible PR3020-APS and PR3320-APS apron workstations, the PR2219PS and PR3019PS ledge workstations, and the PR1815 bar sink and PR2522-DM laundry sink, which are designed to coordinate with the apron models.
Caring for Granite Composite
Day to day, the PR3020-APS sink asks for little: clean it after use with warm water, a liquid detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe tea, coffee and juice up promptly so they do not set. Nantucket's care guide asks you not to cut directly on the surface, to skip harsh abrasives and metal pads, and to keep alcohol, gasoline, acids and solvents away from the stone. In hard water areas, lime build-up comes off by covering the bottom of the bowl with vinegar and water for several hours, then scrubbing with the stiff side of a sponge and rinsing.
For a farmhouse kitchen, the PR3020-APS-TI is the Nantucket Sinks 30" granite composite farmhouse sink in titanium: a reversible apron front with two corner styles and a workstation ledge, in European stone made to resist stains and scratches.
Titanium With Metallic Flecks
The PR3020-APS-TI comes in titanium, a grey stone color with metallic flecks throughout, a neutral middle ground between white and black that suits grey, white or wood cabinetry.
Matching Titanium Rockport Pieces
Titanium is also offered in the PR1815-TI bar sink, the 22" PR2219PS-TI workstation, the 30" PR3019PS-TI workstation and the PR2522-DM-TI laundry sink, so a kitchen, bar and laundry room can share one stone and one color.
Reversible Apron Front
The sink is reversible, with two different front corner radius designs, so you can choose the softer, more traditional apron or the crisper, more modern one when it is set into the cabinet.
Workstation Ledge Over the Bowl
A built-in ledge lets the wood cutting board and roll-up mat rest right on the sink, so chopping and drying happen over the basin and scraps go straight to the drain.
Board and Roll-Up Mat Included
A wood cutting board and the RUM-165 stainless steel roll-up mat come in the box and span the sink opening on the top ledge, so the workstation is ready to use on day one.
Matching Drain and Trim Ring
A color-coordinated basket strainer drain and a decorative disposal trim ring are included; the trim ring dresses an existing disposal flange so the drain matches the stone.
Sloped Basin Floor
The inside of the basin is sloped toward the center drain, which the spec sheet calls superior drainage, so water and rinse debris clear the 9" deep bowl quickly.
Heat and Thermal Shock Rated
Nantucket says the stone can withstand thermal shocks and temperatures up to 560°F. Its care guide still asks for a trivet under any pan hotter than 500°F and advises avoiding very hot and very cold together.
Sold separately: DeluxeColander-PR17 stainless steel colander, NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain (brushed stainless) or NS35LCC-CH (chrome), NS35L-EXT extended basket strainer drain, 3.5EDF-BRS or 3.5EDF-ORB extended flange.
Installation
This is a farmhouse apron sink that installs undermount style into an apron-front or custom base cabinet; it cannot go into a standard sink base without modification. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation. Following the apron guide, the installer builds a 2x4 support frame inside the cabinet strong enough to hold up to 300 lbs once installed (the sink alone weighs 81 lbs), set so the rim sits level and flush with the cabinet top, with room left for the drain, supply lines and a disposal. No template is included: the cutout is taken from the sink itself, and the counter can be cut flush or with a 1/4" overhang. The outer sink edges taper inward toward 1/4" by design, so measure the actual sink before the cabinet is finished. It needs a 33" minimum apron base. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop or wall. The 3.5" center drain opening takes the included basket strainer; tighten it by hand, since overtightening can crack the sink, and because the stone is thick, a disposal may need an extended flange. The Apron installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Clean the sink after each use with warm water, a liquid detergent and a soft cloth, and wipe up tea, coffee and juice promptly. Nantucket's care guide says not to set anything hotter than 500°F on the sink (a pan straight off a burner can exceed 1000°F), so use a trivet or potholder, and avoid thermal shock from very hot and very cold together. Do not cut on the surface, and keep harsh abrasives, metal pads, alcohol, gasoline, acids and solvents off it. For lime build-up, cover the bottom with vinegar and water for several hours, then scrub with the stiff side of a sponge and rinse.
