The Nantucket Sinks REB2014 is a 20" x 14" rectangular hand-hammered brass bar sink from the Brightwork collection, in polished brass with a dual-mount design. Nantucket calls it a focal point for a bar or kitchen: the shiny hammered interior has dips and peaks that catch the light like sparkling ripples on the sea, and the larger 17" x 11.5" bowl works as a true prep sink as well as a bar sink.
Its 5.875" deep basin takes a full 3.5" kitchen size drain rather than a small bar drain, so a standard basket strainer fits and the sink can handle produce rinsing and pot filling at an island. The dual-mount design means it can be used as an overmount or an undermount, your preference, as Nantucket puts it, and it fits a 23" minimum base cabinet.
Each sink is hammered by hand, so individual variations exist and the dimensions are nominal, varying by up to 1/4". Brass is a living metal: Nantucket's spec sheet says it will patina and needs occasional polishing to bring back its original luster, and a carnauba wax coat slows that process. There is no overflow and no faucet hole.
The REB2014 is 6.25" tall and weighs 7 lbs. Its stainless twin, the RES2014, shares the same footprint in hammered stainless steel.
Installing the REB2014
The REB2014 can be used as an overmount or an undermount, and its spec sheet confirms that the template and clips are not included. Because every hand-made Brightwork basin is unique, Nantucket's guide provides no template: the installer traces the actual rim and, for an undermount, subtracts 1/8" from the outline (adding 1/4" where an overhang is wanted). Mounting hardware, template and silicone are not included, silicone should be kept off the bowl because it can damage the finish, and a small rim bend from shipping can be flattened with a rubber mallet over a towel. Nantucket lists the 3.5KD-PB polished brass basket strainer for it.
Brightwork is Nantucket's curated assortment of specialty metal sinks, inspired by the brightwork on sailboats; like sunlight sparkling on the ocean on a clear day, the brand says, these pieces bring brilliance to a bath, bar or kitchen. The collection works in hand-hammered stainless steel, brass and copper, in round, square, oval, rectangular and trough bath and bar sinks, plus kitchen sinks, a farmhouse apron and the Steppe two-tier sink, so a home can repeat one metal from the powder room to the kitchen.
Caring for Polished Brass
Nantucket notes that brass will patina and needs occasional polishing, so the REB2014 comes with a short routine. Its brass care guide calls for a carnauba paste wax before first use and again every 6 months, a daily wash with a soft damp cloth and a little mild soap free of antibacterial or bleach additives, and a rinse and hand dry. Bar Keepers Friend or Brasso lifts water spots and mineral deposits, steel wool, scouring pads and sponges stay away from the finish, and wine, fruit acid and grooming products should be rinsed off promptly.
For an island prep station or a bar that needs real working room, the REB2014 is the Nantucket Sinks 20" hammered brass bar sink, in polished brass that Nantucket says catches the light like ripples on the sea.
Polished Hand-Hammered Brass
The REB2014's polished brass interior is hammered into dips and peaks that catch the light, which Nantucket compares to sparkling ripples on the sea on a sunny day.
Full-Size 3.5" Drain
Unlike smaller bar sinks, the REB2014 has a 3.5" drain opening for a standard kitchen size drain, so a basket strainer such as the 3.5KD-PB fits and prep work drains freely.
Overmount or Undermount
The dual-mount design lets the sink drop in over the counter or sit beneath it, so it can follow the countertop you choose rather than limit it.
Generous 17" x 11.5" Bowl
The 17" x 11.5" basin at 5.875" deep gives real working room, enough to rinse vegetables or fill a stockpot at a prep station.
Brass Patinas, Polish Restores
Brass naturally oxidizes over time; Nantucket notes a quick polish from time to time brings back the original luster, and regular waxing slows the change.
Handmade, Nominal Dimensions
Each REB2014 is made by hand, so Nantucket lists its measurements as nominal and they can vary by up to 1/4". Measure the actual sink before the countertop is cut so the opening fits your piece exactly.
Sold separately: 3.5KD-PB polished brass basket strainer drain.
Installation
This handmade sink can be undermounted or top mounted (overmounted). Nantucket recommends professional installation. Because every hand-made basin is unique, no template is provided: the installer traces the actual rim, and for an undermount the guide subtracts 1/8" from the traced outline (adding 1/4" where an overhang is wanted). Mounting hardware, template and silicone are not included, and silicone should be kept off the bowl, where it can damage the finish. Wax the finish before first use. A small rim bend from shipping can be flattened with a rubber mallet over a towel. It fits a 23" minimum base cabinet. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop or the wall. The 3.5" center drain opening takes a standard kitchen size drain (3.5KD-PB), sold separately; there is no overflow. The spec sheet confirms the template and clips are not included. The Brightwork installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Brass needs a little routine care: Nantucket notes it will patina and requires occasional polishing. Seal it with a good carnauba paste wax before first use and again every 6 months. Wash daily with a soft damp cloth and a little mild soap free of antibacterial or bleach additives (original Dawn is the brand's example), then rinse and hand dry; never use steel wool, a scouring pad or a sponge. Remove mineral deposits and water spots with Bar Keepers Friend or Brasso. Face cleansers, toothpaste, grooming products, wine, fruit acid and ketchup alter the finish, so rinse them off promptly.

Nantucket Sinks is a boutique sink maker based in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, that has designed kitchen and bath sinks for more than two decades. Its range of over 500 products brings together fireclay, stainless steel, granite composite, vitreous china, cast iron and hand-hammered metals sourced from skilled makers in Italy, China and beyond, styled with the charm of the New England coast.
Brightwork is Nantucket Sinks' collection of handcrafted metal sinks, hand hammered in brass, copper and stainless steel. Because every sink is shaped by hand, no two are identical and nominal measurements can differ slightly from piece to piece. The range runs from small round and square bar sinks to rectangular and trough-style bathroom sinks, and unlacquered pieces develop a natural patina that Nantucket treats as part of the character of the metal, not a defect.
