The Nantucket Sinks Reversible Fluted or Plain Apron Italian Fireclay Farmhouse Kitchen Sink in White comes in 2 versions: 33" or 35.75" size. Pick your options above to open the exact model, with its own price and details. The details below are for the 33" version.
The Nantucket Sinks ISFCW33x18SO is a 33" Island Collection Italian fireclay farmhouse sink in glossy white, with a reversible apron that shows either a fluted or a plain front. The single 30" x 15.25" bowl is 9" deep, the classic 33" farmhouse size for a family kitchen that wants a deep, durable basin and a choice of apron styles.
The sink is glazed on all sides and reversible, so you choose which face shows: turn it one way for a fluted apron that adds texture and shadow to the cabinet front, or the other way for a smooth, plain apron. The deep single basin holds a full load of dishware and large pots, and the design combines ease of use with durability. The drain sits at the center of the bowl.
Nantucket makes the sink in Italy and fires it for 20 hours at over 2000 degrees, so the glaze fuses to the clay; the result resists stains, can handle high heat, and has a non-porous surface that the spec sheet describes as scratch resistant and sound absorbing. As with all fireclay, the dimensions are nominal because the clay shrinks during firing and may vary by up to 1/4", so Nantucket recommends waiting to receive your sink before buying a cabinet or cutting the countertop.
Fitting the ISFCW33x18SO Fireclay Sink
Plan around the clay. The ISFCW33x18SO measures 33" x 18" x 10" nominal. At 88 lbs, it sits on a 2x4 support frame inside an apron-style base cabinet built to the actual sink. No drain ships with the sink: the 3.5" drain opening sits at the center of the bowl, and the sink's thickness may call for a drain with an extended flange or ferrule. There are no faucet holes in the sink, so the faucet is planned separately, either through the countertop or on the wall. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation. The Apron installation guide in Resources covers the cutout and mounting.
The Island Collection
The ISFCW33x18SO belongs to Nantucket's Island Collection, which Nantucket presents as a limited edition of key pieces for kitchen and bath fixtures. In fireclay it includes the 23.5" ISFC24W-SB1 and ISFC24GR-SB1 single bowls and the ISFC24x18W-DB2 double bowl, made in Europe, and the Italian-made 33" ISFCW33x18SO and 35.75" ISFCW36x18SO reversible farmhouse sinks and the 35.5" ISFCGW35X19DBSO double bowl farmhouse sink.
Caring for the Fireclay Glaze
Nantucket's fireclay care guide calls fireclay easy and low maintenance: it contains no metal, so it is stain resistant and will not rust. A mild cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge handle daily cleaning, a cloth dry prevents spotting in hard water areas, soaking with a little baking soda loosens stuck-on food, and Soft Scrub or a Scotch-Brite sponge takes care of the rare surface stain. A periodic coat of carnauba wax protects the glaze and helps water drain faster.
In short, the Nantucket Sinks ISFCW33x18SO is a 33" fireclay farmhouse sink that gives a deep Italian fireclay basin with a choice of fluted or plain apron.
Features
30" x 15.25" x 9" Bowl
The 9" deep, 30" wide basin holds stockpots and a sink full of dishes, inside a 33" x 18" x 10" body sized for a standard farmhouse opening.
88 lbs: Plan the Support
At 88 lbs empty, the 33" sink needs the 2x4 support frame Nantucket's apron guide describes, rated for up to 300 lbs once installed and loaded.
Reversible Fluted or Plain Apron
Glazed on every side, the sink can be installed with the fluted apron or the plain apron facing out, so one sink suits a farmhouse or a modern kitchen.
Fired 20 Hours at 2000 Degrees
Nantucket fires the clay for 20 hours at over 2000 degrees, fusing the glaze to the body so it resists stains and can handle high heat.
Non-Porous, Scratch Resistant
The spec sheet describes the non-porous surface as scratch resistant and stain resistant, so the white glaze keeps its shine with simple cleaning.
Sound-Absorbing Fireclay
The dense fireclay body absorbs sound, which Nantucket notes on the spec sheet, so dishes and running water sound softer in the bowl.

Installation & Care
Installation
This is an undermount fireclay farmhouse sink that requires an apron-style base cabinet; the cabinet should be built to the actual sink once it arrives. Nantucket's Apron installation guide calls for professional installation and custom cabinetry: a custom sink base is recommended rather than modifying a standard base. Fireclay aprons have nominal dimensions and up to 1/4" of taper, so no template is included and every cut is taken from the actual sink; wait until it arrives before the cabinet is built. The installer builds a 2x4 support frame inside the base, strong enough for up to 300 lbs once installed, set so the rim is level and flush with the cabinet top, with room for the drain, supply lines and a disposal, and scribes the cabinet sides or adds filler strips as needed. The countertop is cut flush or with a 1/4" overhang. The sink has no faucet holes. A drain is not included, and because of the sink's thickness it may need a 3.5" drain with an extended flange. The Apron installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Fireclay is easy, low-maintenance and contains no metal, so it is stain resistant and will not rust. Clean with a mild cleaner and a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge, then rinse; in hard water areas, dry the sink with a cloth to prevent spotting. Soak stuck-on food before scrubbing (baking soda helps), and for the rare surface stain use Soft Scrub or a Scotch-Brite sponge. An occasional coat of carnauba wax protects the glaze and helps water run off faster.
