The Nantucket Sinks SR-PS-3219-DE-16 is a 32" Pro Series Prep Station sink with two equal bowls, each 14.5" x 16", which Nantucket designed to let you divide and conquer kitchen tasks. One side can hold soaking dishes while the other stays clean for prep, and the ledge carries a wooden cutting board and colander over either bowl. It fits a 33" sink base and arrives with two bottom grids and two basket strainer drains.
An interior edge runs around the bowls to hold the included colander and the thick wooden cutting board, which Nantucket designs to sit securely in the ledge so you can chop right over the sink with less mess. The stainless colander nests over the water for rinsing flatware and produce or air drying delicate stemware, and each bowl gets its own bottom grid on rubber feet and its own basket strainer drain to catch food debris.
The bowls are 9.5" deep with grooved channels in the beveled floor leading to the rear drains. Putting both drains at the back leaves more unobstructed space under the counter for plumbing, a disposal or storage. The sink is 16-gauge 304 stainless steel in a brushed satin finish, with rubber pads to reduce noise and an insulation spray that reduces condensation. Nantucket notes a dimensional tolerance of +/- 1/8" on these sinks.
Fitting the SR-PS-3219-DE-16 in Your Kitchen
Sizing is straightforward. The SR-PS-3219-DE-16 measures 32" x 19" x 10" overall. As an undermount sink it is installed beneath a solid surface countertop such as granite or quartz, and the fabricator can finish the edge flush with the bowl or with the 1/4" overhang Nantucket recommends. There are no faucet holes in the sink, so the faucet is planned separately, either through the countertop or on the wall. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation. The Undermount installation guide in Resources covers the cutout and mounting.
Pro Series Sizes and Accessories
The SR-PS-3219-DE-16 is part of Nantucket's Pro Series, which Nantucket created following the trend for industrial style kitchens in the home, with small radius (SR) or zero radius (ZR) corners on every model and a range that runs from bar and prep bowls to large, deep single bowls. Its Prep Station workstation sizes include the 19" SR-PS-1919-16, the 28" SR-PS2-2818-16, the 30" SR-PS-3018-16 and ZR-PS-3018-16, the 32" SR-PS-3220-16, SR-PS-3220-OSD and ZR-PS-3220-16, the double bowl SR-PS-3219-OS-16 and SR-PS-3219-DE-16, the 36" SR-PS-3620-16 and ZR-PS-3620-16, and the 33" AP-PS-3221-16 apron. Nantucket offers accessories to complete its Pro Series sinks, and the optional pieces listed for the SR-PS-3219-DE-16 are the NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain.
In short, the Nantucket Sinks SR-PS-3219-DE-16 is a 32" stainless steel workstation sink that pairs two equal bowls with a ledge for the included wooden board and colander.
Two Equal 14.5" Bowls
The 50/50 split gives two identical 14.5" x 16" basins, so either side can take the dish load and either can be the prep bowl, which suits left- or right-handed cooks and busy households.
Board and Colander Move Side to Side
Because both bowls are the same size, the cutting board and colander fit over either one, letting you set up the workstation on whichever side is closer to the stove or the dishwasher.
Wooden Board Fits the Ledge
The thick wooden cutting board sits securely on the interior edge over either bowl, so chopping happens over the sink and trimmings go straight into the water.
Two Grids, Two Strainers
Each bowl gets its own rubber-footed bottom grid and basket strainer drain, so both sides are protected from scratches and both catch food debris at the 3.5" openings.
Thick 16-Gauge 304 Steel
The sink is fabricated from 16-gauge 304 stainless steel, the premium gauge Nantucket uses across its Pro Series sinks, here in a brushed satin finish.
Quieter, Drier Cabinet
Rubber padding applied to the underside dampens the ring of running water and clattering dishes, and a sprayed insulation layer reduces the condensation that can drip onto items stored below.
Small Radius Corners
Small radius corners keep the crisp lines of a professional sink but leave a slight curve at the base that a sponge can follow, which Nantucket notes makes cleaning easier.
Sold separately: NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain.
Installation
This is an undermount sink: it hangs beneath a solid surface countertop such as granite or quartz, which Nantucket specifies for its undermount stainless sinks, and it fits a 33" minimum sink base cabinet. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation; give the countertop fabricator the installation guide and follow local building and plumbing codes. The guide has the fabricator mark the cutout from a template, cut on the inside of the line, and finish the counter flush with the bowl or overhanging it by 1/8" to 1/4"; Nantucket recommends a 1/4" overhang, which gives a clean edge and hides the silicone. Clips are spaced evenly around the sink, set loosely, adjusted, then tightened. Silicone sealant is not included. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop, and the sink needs two standard 3.5" drains, both at the rear. The Undermount installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Clean the sink often rather than saving it for a heavy scrub: a soft non-abrasive cloth and a mild cleaner, wiped with the direction of the grain, then a towel dry after use to keep it shiny and free of water spots. For tougher stains use a mild abrasive such as Bar Keepers Friend, and remove mineral deposits with vinegar and water. Never use steel wool or bleach, do not leave cleaners in the bowl overnight or wet sponges and soap bars on the steel, wipe up salt, vinegar, citrus and other acidic foods promptly, and do not leave steel or cast iron cookware sitting in the sink. For the included wood cutting board: hand wash it with soapy water right after use, rinse and dry it; do not soak it or put it in the dishwasher or microwave, which warp and crack wood. Disinfect with a vinegar spray, and condition it with mineral oil, a mineral-oil blend or beeswax (never cooking oil, which goes rancid), left to absorb overnight.
