The Nantucket Sinks SS-PRO-ZR3018-5.5 is a 30" Pro Series zero radius undermount kitchen sink with a 5.5" deep bowl, shallow enough to be installed as ADA compliant. A full 30" wide with a single 28" x 16" basin, it is made for accessible kitchens, aging-in-place remodels and commercial or multifamily projects that need a wheelchair-accessible sink, and it fits a 30" base. A BG-SR3018 bottom grid and the NS35CD colander drain are included.
Nantucket notes that ADA specifications for the accessible area underneath the sink must be followed, so refer to the ADA guidelines when you decide on the cabinet and countertop configuration. The shallow tapered bowl, 28" x 16" at the top edge and 27.125" x 15" at the bottom, still takes plates and sheet pans flat, and the zero radius corners give it a crisp, square look that matches the deeper Pro Series sinks.
Nantucket fabricates the sink from premium 16-gauge T-304 stainless steel for durability. Thick rubber dampening pads quiet running water, the underside is sprayed with a special insulation to reduce condensation, and Nantucket's finishing process helps keep the steel corrosion resistant to rust and oxidation. The brushed satin finish and the coordinating colander drain keep daily cleanup simple.
Fitting the SS-PRO-ZR3018-5.5 in Your Kitchen
Sizing is straightforward. The SS-PRO-ZR3018-5.5 measures 30" x 18" x 5.5" overall. As an undermount sink it is installed beneath a solid surface countertop such as granite or quartz, and the fabricator can finish the edge flush with the bowl or with the 1/4" overhang Nantucket recommends. There are no faucet holes in the sink, so the faucet is planned separately, either through the countertop or on the wall. The 3.5" drain sits at the rear center of the bowl and takes a standard 3.5" kitchen drain. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation. The Undermount installation guide in Resources covers the cutout and mounting.
Pro Series Sizes and Accessories
The SS-PRO-ZR3018-5.5 is part of Nantucket's Pro Series, which Nantucket created following the trend for industrial style kitchens in the home, with small radius (SR) or zero radius (ZR) corners on every model and a range that runs from bar and prep bowls to large, deep single bowls. Single bowl sizes run from the 15" SR1815, ZR1815 and SR1515 bar sinks through the 23" SR2318-16, 28" ZR2818-16, 30" SR3018, 32" SR3218-16, SR3219-16 and ZR3219-16 to the 36" SR3618-16, with depth variants such as the 8" ZR2818-8-16, the 12" SR3018-12-16 and the 5.5" SS-PRO-ZR3018-5.5. Nantucket offers accessories to complete its Pro Series sinks, and the optional pieces listed for the SS-PRO-ZR3018-5.5 are the NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain.
In short, the Nantucket Sinks SS-PRO-ZR3018-5.5 is a 30" stainless steel undermount kitchen sink that offers a shallow bowl that allows an ADA compliant undermount installation.
5.5" ADA Compliant Depth
The 5.5" bowl depth allows an ADA compliant installation with knee space beneath the sink for a seated user, when the cabinet and countertop follow the ADA guidelines.
Grid and Colander Drain Included
The BG-SR3018 bottom grid protects the bowl floor and the coordinating NS35CD colander drain catches scraps at the 3.5" opening.
Premium 16-Gauge T-304 Steel
The sink is fabricated from 16-gauge T-304 stainless steel, a premium gauge Nantucket chose for maximum durability in a sink that works every day.
Quieter, Drier Cabinet
Thick rubber dampening pads cut the hollow ring of running water and clattering dishes, and a sprayed insulation layer reduces the condensation that can drip onto items stored in the cabinet.
Tapered Interior Bowl
The spec sheet shows the bowl tapering from 28" x 16" at the top to 27.125" x 15" at the floor, so water runs down the walls and the floor stays a usable size.
Zero Radius Corners
Square inside corners give the shallow bowl straight walls and the sharp lines of a commercial sink, matching the deeper zero radius Pro Series models.
Sold separately: NS35LCC flip-top crumb cup drain.
Installation
This is an undermount sink: it hangs beneath a solid surface countertop such as granite or quartz, which Nantucket specifies for its undermount stainless sinks, and it fits a 30" minimum sink base cabinet. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation; give the countertop fabricator the installation guide and follow local building and plumbing codes. The guide has the fabricator mark the cutout from a template, cut on the inside of the line, and finish the counter flush with the bowl or overhanging it by 1/8" to 1/4"; Nantucket recommends a 1/4" overhang, which gives a clean edge and hides the silicone. Clips are spaced evenly around the sink, set loosely, adjusted, then tightened. Silicone sealant is not included. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop, and the sink needs a standard 3.5" drain at the rear center of the bowl. For an ADA installation, the cabinet and countertop must leave the accessible area under the sink that the ADA guidelines specify. The Undermount installation guide is in Resources.
Care
Clean the sink often rather than saving it for a heavy scrub: a soft non-abrasive cloth and a mild cleaner, wiped with the direction of the grain, then a towel dry after use to keep it shiny and free of water spots. For tougher stains use a mild abrasive such as Bar Keepers Friend, and remove mineral deposits with vinegar and water. Never use steel wool or bleach, do not leave cleaners in the bowl overnight or wet sponges and soap bars on the steel, wipe up salt, vinegar, citrus and other acidic foods promptly, and do not leave steel or cast iron cookware sitting in the sink.
