The Nantucket Sinks TRS48-OF is a 48" hand-hammered stainless steel trough undermount bathroom sink with an overflow, from the Brightwork collection. Room enough for two, as Nantucket puts it: the 46" x 12" trough runs the length of a double vanity in high-polish stainless as one long, sparkling basin.
Nantucket describes it as an elegant handcrafted double trough with hand hammering detail. Because it is made by hand, each sink is slightly different, and the hammering creates highs and lows that catch the light like the sun sparkling on the ocean. The trough is 5.875" deep and has an overflow, and it takes standard lavatory drains with overflow, which are not included.
It is 18-gauge stainless steel and designed to be undermounted, so the long counter edge frames the trough and water wipes straight in. The steel will naturally oxidize over time, but a quick polish brings back its luster, and the dimensions are nominal, varying by up to 1/4", so measure the actual sink before the countertop is cut.
Overall the TRS48-OF is 48" x 14" x 6" and weighs 21 lbs, and it needs a 50" minimum vanity cabinet. Nantucket lists its NS-UDC-OF chrome, NS-UDBN-OF brushed nickel and NS-UDMB-OF matte black umbrella drains with overflow as compatible.
Installing the TRS48-OF
The TRS48-OF is designed to be undermounted beneath a long countertop. Nantucket's undermount guide asks the fabricator to follow it and local building and plumbing codes, to space the clips evenly around the sink, loosely tighten, adjust and then tighten them, and to cut the counter flush or with a 1/8" to 1/4" overhang; a 1/4" overhang is recommended because it hides the silicone, which is not included. Since the trough is handmade with nominal dimensions, measure it before the countertop is cut.
Brightwork is Nantucket's curated assortment of specialty metal sinks, inspired by the brightwork on sailboats; like sunlight sparkling on the ocean on a clear day, the brand says, these pieces bring brilliance to a bath, bar or kitchen. The collection works in hand-hammered stainless steel, brass and copper, in round, square, oval, rectangular and trough bath and bar sinks, plus kitchen sinks, a farmhouse apron and the Steppe two-tier sink, so a home can repeat one metal from the powder room to the kitchen.
Caring for Hammered Stainless Steel
Care for the TRS48-OF follows Nantucket's hammered stainless guide: clean regularly with a non-abrasive cloth and a mild, bleach-free soap such as original Dawn, towel dry after every use to prevent water spots, and never use steel wool. For a deeper clean the brand recommends Flitz Polish Paste or a liquid metal polish, followed by Flitz Faucet Wax Plus to protect the surface, and it asks owners to keep cleaners other than mild soap and water off the steel and to rinse away grooming products, wine, fruit acid and ketchup.
The TRS48-OF is the Nantucket Sinks 48" hammered stainless trough bathroom sink with room for two at one vanity, in high-polish steel with an overflow.
Room Enough for Two
Nantucket describes the TRS48-OF as an elegant, handcrafted double trough with room enough for two, and its 46" x 12" basin spans a double vanity.
Fits a 50" Vanity
At 48" x 14" overall, the trough needs a 50" minimum vanity cabinet, a fit for primary baths with a long, shared counter.
Overflow Built In
An overflow guards against an accidental fill to the rim, and the sink takes standard lavatory drains with overflow in chrome, brushed nickel or matte black.
Undermount Long Edge
Mounted beneath the countertop, the long trough leaves a continuous counter edge that frames the hammered steel and wipes clean into the bowl.
18-Gauge Hammered Stainless
Hammered by hand from 18-gauge stainless steel, the material and gauge Nantucket lists for this Brightwork sink.
A Polish Restores the Luster
Left untreated, the hammered stainless will naturally lose its shine; Nantucket notes a quick polish brings back its original luster.
Sold separately: NS-UDC-OF (chrome), NS-UDBN-OF (brushed nickel) or NS-UDMB-OF (matte black) umbrella pop-up bathroom drain with overflow.
Installation
This sink is designed to be undermounted. Nantucket's installation guide calls for professional installation, and its undermount guide asks for clips spaced evenly around the sink, a flush edge or a 1/8" to 1/4" overhang (1/4" is recommended to hide the silicone) and work to local building and plumbing codes; silicone sealant is not included. Because the sink is handmade and its dimensions are nominal, measure the actual sink before the countertop is cut. It fits a 50" minimum base cabinet. There are no faucet holes, so the faucet mounts on the countertop or the wall. It takes standard lavatory drains with overflow (NS-UDC-OF, NS-UDBN-OF or NS-UDMB-OF), sold separately. The Undermount installation guide is in Resources.

For a deeper clean, Nantucket recommends Flitz Polish Paste or a liquid metal polish, then Flitz Faucet Wax Plus to protect the surface. Keep cleaners other than mild soap and water off the steel, and rinse away face cleansers, toothpaste, grooming products, wine, fruit acid and ketchup, which alter the finish.

Nantucket Sinks is a boutique sink maker based in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, that has designed kitchen and bath sinks for more than two decades. Its range of over 500 products brings together fireclay, stainless steel, granite composite, vitreous china, cast iron and hand-hammered metals sourced from skilled makers in Italy, China and beyond, styled with the charm of the New England coast.
Brightwork is Nantucket Sinks' collection of handcrafted metal sinks, hand hammered in brass, copper and stainless steel. Because every sink is shaped by hand, no two are identical and nominal measurements can differ slightly from piece to piece. The range runs from small round and square bar sinks to rectangular and trough-style bathroom sinks, and unlacquered pieces develop a natural patina that Nantucket treats as part of the character of the metal, not a defect.
