The 19 Inline drives nineteen 3mm chisel tip needles at 3000 blows per minute. Each one strikes independently, so the bundle chips laitance, paint and scale out of the dips in a broken concrete or steel surface rather than riding over them.
Use it where the surface is too uneven for a grinder or a disc: around anchor bolts, along cracked slab edges and over pitted plate, then follow with paint or a patch on a clean base.
Body, lever throttle and needle bundle sit on one straight line, so the 19 Inline can be held close to the work like a pencil for precise passes along welds, brackets and plate edges. Held at a shallow angle and moved steadily, the bundle breaks up mill scale and layered rust.
Let the tool do the work: light pressure that just keeps it stable covers more area than leaning on it, and keeps the needles from bouncing back into the tube.
With the 1/2" square chisel holder fitted, the same 19 Inline body drives a 3/4" chisel at 3000 blows per minute for weld spatter, slag and thick scale that needles only dent.
Choose the chisel scaler if most of your work is spatter and slag, the needle scaler for rust and coatings, or the kit if you want both setups in one case of parts.

Novatek rates the 19 Inline at 6 cfm (170 lpm) of air, and the tool is meant to run at 90 psi at the inlet. Use a 3/8" bore airline, keep the run to about 50' where you can, and put a filter, regulator and lubricator in the line so the air reaches the tool clean, dry and oiled.
The needle scaler ships with nineteen 3mm x 7" chisel tip needles fitted. The chisel scaler ships with a 1/2" square chisel holder and a 3/4" chisel. The kit is the needle scaler plus spare holders, anvil and spring, the chisel holder, three chisels and two needle packs, so you can switch between both setups.
Yes, with a 2mm needle holder. Novatek's manual lists 51 needles at 2mm or 19 at 3mm for the inline scaler, and the kit includes a spare 2mm holder and a 250 pack of 2mm flat tip needles.
Loosen the cap head screw and pull the front tube back until about 1" of needle protrudes, then tighten it again. The sliding tube keeps the stroke on the work as the needles shorten.
Yes. Put three drops of light machine oil into the air inlet before you start, and run an inline lubricator if you have one. Novatek's manual notes that running its scalers without air preparation could void the warranty.
No. Novatek says the 19 Inline is not built for explosive atmospheres or for work close to flammable materials, and a steel needle striking steel can spark. Wear hearing and eye protection and a dust mask suited to the coating you are removing.
