Shroud and vacuum port at the needles

Shroud and vacuum port at the needles

On the 19PG VSE the needles work inside a shrouded front tube, and an adjustable 1.5" vacuum take-off draws debris away from the striking face as the nineteen 3mm needles break up paint and rust. Flat and corner cuffs keep the shroud close to the surface.

Connected to a suitable HEPA vacuum, it is built for jobs where dust control and containment are critical, such as abatement and remediation work on steel and masonry.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

What vacuum do I connect to the 19PG VSE?

The 19PG VSE has a standard 1.5" vacuum take-off on the front tube, so it connects to a 1.5" vacuum hose. Pair it with a HEPA vacuum rated for the material you are removing; the shroud only captures what the vacuum can pull away.

What are the flat and corner cuffs for?

The cuffs are the interchangeable nose pieces at the front of the 19PG VSE shroud. The flat cuff is the one for flat or gently curved surfaces; the corner cuff works into inside corners and crevices. Swap them to keep the shroud close to the surface as the work changes.

What air supply does the 19PG VSE need?

Novatek rates it at 5.5 cfm (156 lpm). Run it through a 3/8" airline to the 1/4" NPT inlet, add a few drops of air tool oil at the inlet each day, and run it at 90 psi at the inlet, which Novatek gives as the maximum.

What is the difference between the package and the kit?

The package is the shrouded scaler with its nose pieces and a pack of 3mm chisel tip needles. The kit adds spare 2mm and 3mm needle holders, a spare anvil and return spring, two more flat and corner cuffs, a 100 pack of 3mm chisel tip needles and a 250 pack of 2mm needles in a carry bag.

Can it run 2mm needles?

Yes. Fit the 2mm needle holder (included in the kit) for 2mm needles and a finer finish on thin coatings; the 3mm chisel tip needles are standard.

Does the 19PG VSE replace respiratory protection?

No. The shroud and vacuum reduce the dust that escapes at the needles, but you still need the respirator, eye and hearing protection and work practices your job and the coating call for.
