One compact head, two handle lengths

One compact head, two handle lengths

With one compact head, the single hammer follows control joints, slab edges and wall bases closely. The one-piece piston and tip hits the surface directly, and a nylon brush seal wipes the piston on every stroke to keep grit out of the cylinder.

Choose the short handle (9" overall) for close control at waist height and on walls, or the long handle (18" overall) to reach floors with less bending.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

What air supply does the 1SH single hammer need?

Novatek rates it at 6.5 cfm (186 lpm) at a working pressure of 90 psi. Use a 3/8" bore airline, keep runs to about 50' where possible, and fit a filter, regulator and lubricator with a moisture trap.

Cruciform or bush hammer head: what is the difference?

The 1SH ships with tungsten carbide tipped cruciform pistons, for rapid take-down of concrete, coatings on steel or concrete, non-skid, epoxy and pack rust. Bush hammer pistons, sold separately, texture concrete and expose aggregate for bonding overlays.

Short or long handle?

The short handle version is 9" long and weighs 8 lbs, easiest to control on walls, edges and at waist height. The long handle version is 18" and 9 lbs, so you can reach floor areas with less bending.

Single head or triple head hammer?

The single head hammer is lighter and gets into joints, edges and corners. The triple head covers more area per pass with three pistons at 2500 bpm each, for larger patches of concrete or coating.

How do I maintain the 1SH?

Oil it through the air inlet before use. At least every 50 hours, or sooner if it turns sluggish, flush it with a high-flash solvent and oil it straight away; on abrasive concrete work Novatek recommends doing this daily. The screw-top caps open for piston changes.

What protection should I wear?

Hearing protection, eye protection, gloves and a dust mask or respirator suited to the material. Scaling hammers are loud and throw chips, and the dust from concrete and old coatings needs controlling; for dust capture look at the shrouded VSE version with a vacuum.
