On the 1SH VSE the single carbide tipped piston works inside a shroud with a brush skirt, and a vacuum port on the shroud draws the chips and dust away as the 2500 blows per minute stroke fractures concrete or coatings.
Hooked to a suitable vacuum, it lets you take down edges, joints and patches indoors or in occupied buildings with far less dust drifting from the work, and less cleanup after.
The 1SH VSE strikes through a single piece piston and tungsten carbide head, so there is no separate tip to work loose under its 2500 blows per minute stroke. Nylon brush seals keep grit out of the piston and cylinder, and the piston pulls out once the screwed cap and spring are off.
On concrete and coated steel that construction means fewer stops for broken tips, and one hammer body covers both fast removal and surface texturing when you swap in a bush hammer piston.

Novatek describes the shrouded single hammer as dustless when equipped with a proper vacuum. Connect the shroud's port to a vacuum rated for the material, keep the brush skirt on the surface, and still wear the respiratory protection your job requires.
Novatek rates it at 9 cfm (255 lpm) at a working pressure of 90 psi. Use a 3/8" bore airline, keep runs to about 50' where possible, and fit a filter, regulator and lubricator with a moisture trap.
The 1SH VSE ships with tungsten carbide tipped cruciform pistons, for rapid take-down of concrete, coatings on steel or concrete, non-skid, epoxy and pack rust. Bush hammer pistons, sold separately, texture concrete and expose aggregate for bonding overlays.
The short handle version is 9" long and 6.5 lbs for walls and edges; the long handle version is 18" and 7.5 lbs for floors with less bending.
Oil it through the air inlet before use. At least every 50 hours, or sooner if it turns sluggish, flush it with a high-flash solvent and oil it straight away; on abrasive concrete work Novatek recommends doing this daily. The screw-top caps open for piston changes.
