Harness frame for backpack carry

Harness frame for backpack carry

The 3.3 gal vacuum rides on an adjustable harness with shoulder, chest and waist straps, so the operator carries the recovery unit up ladders, onto scaffolding and into boom-lift baskets instead of dragging a canister behind. A 6' crush-proof 1.5" hose runs from the can to the shrouded tool in hand.

The frame detaches with two speed pins, and the same can then serves as a small floor vac when the work comes back down to ground level.

One air line runs vacuum and tool

One air line runs vacuum and tool

On the air model, a single compressed air line connects at the ball valve inlet on the vacuum head. The head builds 160" of water lift from that supply with no electrical service at all, and a live air outlet with its own shutoff passes air on to the shrouded tool, with the in-line filter/dryer already installed.

A single hose follows the operator up a scaffold or into a lift basket, so there are fewer lines to snag or trip over, and a site with no power on hand is no obstacle to the job.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

How much air does the air backpack vacuum need?

The vacuum itself uses 50 cfm at 90 psi. It runs from a single air line at the ball valve inlet, and a T fitting on the head takes off air for your shrouded tool, so size the compressor for the vacuum plus the tool.

What is the difference between the air and electric models?

The air model moves 170 CFM with 160" of water lift and works with up to 75' of 1.5" hose, with no electrical supply needed. The electric model moves 110 CFM with 110" of lift on 120 V at 11 amps and works with up to 25' of hose.

What filtration does it use?

Four-stage filtration that ends in an individually tested and certified HEPA filter. A disposable two-ply paper bag takes the bulk of the debris and a white intermediate filter protects the HEPA; replace that pre-filter with every fifth bag change.

Can I use it as an ordinary shop vacuum?

No. It is built to recover debris from coating removal, not for general cleaning. Never run it without the paper bag, intermediate filter and HEPA filter in place, and never pick up anything burning or smoking.

Can it be used as a floor vacuum?

Yes. Pull the two speed pins and the harness frame comes off the can, which then works as a small floor unit. Remount the frame before wearing it again.

Does the air model include the air dryer?

Yes. The in-line filter/dryer comes installed on air models. Replacement dryer cartridges are available separately.
