Three pistons across the surface

Three pistons across the surface

The 3SH runs three tungsten carbide tipped pistons side by side, each at 2500 blows per minute, so a single pass fractures a wider strip of concrete or coating than a single head hammer. The pistons move independently and follow small changes in the surface.

Use it on larger patches of floor, deck or wall where the single hammer would take too many passes, with the side handle fitted for two-handed control.

Breaking up concrete and coatings

Breaking up concrete and coatings

The cruciform pistons chip away laitance, thin overlays, epoxy and non-skid and leave concrete sound and textured for repair or recoating. On steel they break pack rust and high-build coatings without heat.

Let the weight of the 13 or 14 lbs hammer do the work and keep it moving; holding it in one spot only deepens the cut.

Inline or side handle setup

Inline or side handle setup

The triple hammer body has two live air inlets, so the main handle can be mounted in line with the body or at right angles, with the removable side handle in the other port. Inline reaches along walls and into corners; perpendicular gives a push-style grip for floors.

Changing over takes a hex plug, Teflon tape and a few minutes at the bench.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

What air supply does the 3SH triple hammer need?

Novatek rates it at 14 cfm (408 lpm) at a working pressure of 90 psi. Use a 3/8" bore airline, keep runs to about 50' where possible, and fit a filter, regulator and lubricator with a moisture trap.

Cruciform or bush hammer head: what is the difference?

The 3SH ships with tungsten carbide tipped cruciform pistons, for rapid take-down of concrete, coatings on steel or concrete, non-skid, epoxy and pack rust. Bush hammer pistons, sold separately, texture concrete and expose aggregate for bonding overlays.

Can the handle be set up inline?

Yes. The triple hammer has two live air inlets, so the main handle can sit inline with the body or perpendicular to it. Move the handle and the hex plug (or side handle) between the ports, using fresh Teflon tape on the threads.

Short or long handle?

The short handle version is 9" long and 13 lbs, the long handle version 18" and 14 lbs. The long handle lets you work floors with less bending; the short one is easier on walls and overhead.

How do I maintain the 3SH?

Oil it through the air inlet before use. At least every 50 hours, or sooner if it turns sluggish, flush it with a high-flash solvent and oil it straight away; on abrasive concrete work Novatek recommends doing this daily. The screw-top caps open for piston changes.

Is a shrouded version available?

Yes. The 3SH VSE has a vacuum shroud with brush skirt for dust capture when connected to a suitable vacuum. This listing is the unshrouded hammer.
