Blast and recover in one pass

Blast and recover in one pass

The workhead wraps the blast nozzle in a steel body sealed to the surface by a 3" brush. Abrasive leaves the nozzle and strikes the coating inside that enclosure, and a 3" vacuum hose on the workhead carries spent media and debris back to the recovery system as the operator works.

It blasts a pattern up to 3" wide, reaches finishes from brush-off up to white metal, and runs off standard 3/4" blast hose and nozzles.

Brushes for flat surfaces and corners

Brushes for flat surfaces and corners

Interchangeable 3" brushes let one workhead seal on different shapes: a flat brush for open surfaces, an inside corner brush for internal angles and an outside corner brush for edges. Replaceable steel insert sleeves protect the front of the body and are swapped as they wear.

Matching the brush to the surface is what keeps the seal, and the seal is what keeps media and dust inside the workhead instead of on the job.

A nozzle that swivels all the way

A nozzle that swivels all the way

The nozzle holder swivels a full 360° inside the workhead, so the body turns around the nozzle as the operator changes angle instead of fighting the hose. That gives more freedom of movement and less fatigue across a long blasting shift.

The workhead takes standard blast nozzles in a 3/4" holder. The Workhead Kit includes a #4 nozzle, and a #6 nozzle is the choice for dual-pump vacuum recovery.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

Will the workhead work with my existing blast pot?

Yes. It is designed to fit existing blasting equipment, running off standard 3/4" blast hose and standard blast nozzles, and it connects to the recovery vacuum with 3" vacuum hose. If you run large blast hose, add a short whip hose with a 3/4" nozzle holder on one end.

What is the difference between the Workhead Complete and the Workhead Kit?

The Workhead Complete is the assembled steel workhead with handle, grip, locating and locking rings, a 2" insert sleeve and a flat brush; it ships without a nozzle. The Workhead Kit adds inside and outside corner brushes, more steel sleeves and a #4 blast nozzle. The roller kit adds the workhead roller attachment.

Are the blast and vacuum hoses included?

No. Blast whip hose and vacuum recovery hose are not supplied with the workhead or its kits. The CBS blast workhead stage packages the workhead kit with 50' of 3" vacuum hose and a 10' 3/4" blast whip.

What blast pressure should I run?

Plan on at least 100 psi measured at the blast pot, and keep the abrasive completely dry so it flows evenly through the hose and nozzle.

What finish can it achieve?

From a brush-off blast up to a white metal finish, with a blast pattern up to 3" wide.

What does the roller attachment add?

The roller kit makes the workhead more comfortable to run and keeps a better seal against the surface.
