Vacuum at the bit, not after

Vacuum at the bit, not after

A side port on the shroud takes the vacuum hose, and the spring-loaded steel tube keeps the shroud face pressed flat to the surface as the bit advances. Dust and chips are drawn off at the hole instead of falling to the floor or drifting across the room.

Set the shroud face flat against the surface before you start drilling, and run an industrial HEPA vacuum whenever the material is hazardous.

Bits up to 2 7/8" wide

Bits up to 2 7/8" wide

The DDS-3 accepts bits up to 2 7/8" in diameter, from high-speed steel and wood bits to concrete and spade bits, for holes up to 4" deep. When the bit is wider than the mounting collar, fit it to the chuck first and then slide the shroud over it.

A rubber bellows extends the shroud for longer bits, so the seal holds on extended-length drilling too.

Got Questions?

Find answers below or contact our support team.

Will the DDS-3 fit my drill?

It mounts through a universal collar with reducing collars for different drill noses, and Novatek states it attaches to most drills. Choose the collar that fits your drill most tightly.

What size bits does it take?

Bits up to 2 7/8" in diameter for holes up to 4" deep, including high-speed steel, wood, concrete and spade bits. The rubber bellows covers extended-length bits.

Do I need a vacuum?

Yes. The shroud contains the dust and the vacuum connected to its port removes it. Use an industrial HEPA vacuum for hazardous dust.

Is it tough enough for job sites?

The shroud tube is heavy-duty steel with a spring-loaded design, built for drilling concrete, siding and other sensitive areas.
